dam got my first photo radar ticket today

any hints at beating it or getting the fine reduced ?

fight it. go to court for you hearing. most likely the cop won't show up and plead not guilty. you're ticket is void if the cop doesn't show up. i almost paid 140 bucks for running a yellow light but cop didn't show up so it's all cleared.

does anything happen to your insurance (ie do you get demerits) if you fight the ticket and the cop shows
up and you lose ?????

photoradar is no biggie. i'd just pay it. it doesn't go on your record, i get a thousand in photoradar every year.

Ahh, everybody's favorite "random road tax". Does photoradar put demerits on your license? NO. Can you fight it? YES! I have fought a few that I got. All you do is go down to the court house and ask to see the full size photo. The one you get with the ticket is a close-up of just your car. If, in the full size photo, there is another car in the picture, they will, for me anyways, either decrease the amount of the fine, or just throw it out all together. The reason for this, I was told, is because photo radar uses X-band detectors, which aren't as reliable as the laser radars. X-band works like real radar. It sends out a signal, in a pie shape wave, and anything that it bounces off of is measured. Laser is aimed directly at your car, if you get a laser ticket, which is given to you by a cop, you are SOL. Hope this helps. FIGHT THE POWER!!:cop:
