CAI bad???
Hey guys, i just got a cold air intake from my brother this xmas. I heard a lot bout CAIs being bad cuz rain n snow is goin to get into the engine. what r ur thoughts on CAI??? thanks! HAPPY NEW YEAR btw!!!!!!!!
Do you have a 5-Speed or Auto? Also, is it a brand name (AEM, Injen)?
I have an AEM CAI for a 5-Speed, and I converted it to a SRI. I dunno about doing it for a auto, I think the cut-off for the tube is in a different place.

I love my CAI. It's awesome. I find it definitely makes a difference over 3000RPM. The bypass valve can be bought to protect your engine (~$90). Otherwise, just avoid BIG puddles =). I also heard that automatic vehicles only fit a SRI rather than a CAI (Except for an Injen one). Hope that helps!

I think that the bypass valve is useless...that is if you live somewhere where there is tons and tons of water...like the Glades...haha....no point...lots of ppl that have had one....in Vancouver...say they never had problems..soo dun worry....
