2017 Civic - "Battery Charging Problem"
Looks like a squirrel or something chewed up the cable, I'm not sure if it's just a sensor cable or what. My gas mileage is getting pretty wild and I'm not sure if this has something to do with it. Any idea's what the cable does?

Re: 2017 Civic - "Battery Charging Problem"
i would first fix it if i had an electrical issue regardless, unless you are not really having an issue with it, no matter what it does.
it looks faulty regardless of whatever you think or want to believe...
why the resistance to fix it?

There is no resistance I just want to know what the cable does. I have no issue's with anything charge related so I want to know if its just a sensor cable or maybe something more sinister.
Re: 2017 Civic - "Battery Charging Problem"
According to the parts diagram the thing on the negative terminal is a battery sensor. It monitors the batteries state of charge and will alert you when something isn't working.
