Multiple problems after snow [solved - one more rodent chewing wires]

I have Honda Civic 2016 sedan. After some snow over the weekend I see multiple problems on dashboard -

1. Power steering System problem
2. Brake hold problem
3. Tire pressure monitor system problem
4. Vehicle stability problem, etc

I was able to start my car, AC/heater and wipers work. I cannot move my steering vehicle easily and therefore cannot drive.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Re: Multiple problems after snow

So the service center said the EPS SUB HARNESS (A) needs to be replaced since rodents chew it. Is it fixable at home if I buy one? They dont have the part in yet.

Re: Multiple problems after snow

It’s more likely due to the cold. Tire pressure will contract in cold. The power steering light has come on before on my car when it’s seriously cold out.

Check the battery voltage and make sure the terminals are tight

@Chezboat24 Thanks. So should I just wait for weather to get better? What does these 3 line mean?

'09 TSX 6-Speed
'03 ZX7R
'72 CB350 Twin

@Colin42 Thanks. I will check. What is expected voltage?

Re: Multiple problems after snow

that's part of his signature. Not part of the message.

As far as battery voltage, should be ~12VDC. Make sure all battery connections are good. You may have good voltage, but if there are any loose (even slightly loose) connections, it can cause your dash to light up like a christmas tree

Should be 12.5v or a little higher with the car off

Re: Multiple problems after snow

So I drive the vehicle for around 8 miles and checked the battery charge and it was 12V above.

I still see these errors on the dashboard

1. Power steering System problem
2. Brake hold problem
3. Tire pressure monitor system problem
4. Vehicle stability problem, etc

Any thing else I can try

Re: Multiple problems after snow

is the steering still heavy?
also, if you have code reader, reset the codes
moving thread out of the root 10th gen and into the proper section - you have an issue, it goes into the issues section

Can I use this "HyperTough HT309 OBD2 Scan Diagnostic Tool Code Reader" as code reader?

Re: Multiple problems after snow

choose one of these. Bluetooth are better, WIFI can screw your phone connection.
Amazon Amazon

download app torque to your phone

they might not read some honda specific codes and SRS ones, but work well for the price

Re: Multiple problems after snow

Okay. It has nothing to do with the cold then. Mine was occurring closer to -40F.

Re: Multiple problems after snow

so, second rodent case in a week...
the cold actually have to do with the issue - they find warm places to stay and get under the hood. then start chewing stuff...

The little robbers ate the wires, well at least it didn't lead to anything bad, except for the Christmas tree on the panel
