Unhappy Assessing Damage From Hitting The Curb

[Car is a Honda Civic LX 2019]
Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and, as my username suggests, I did something stupid. Thinking I was driving onto the road from a gas station down a ramp, it turned out I was actually going over the mother of all metal lined curbs - an 8-12 inch super curb that felt something like falling off a small cliff.

Anyway, two impacts - one at the front of the car and one at the back. Pics show everything visible damage wise. At the back end, I put a decent sized dent into the exhaust pipe. At the front end, I seem to have shattered some kind of plastic encasement, hopefully not mission critical.

I did some test driving to see whether there was any noticeable difference or if the check engine light went on re: air flow because of the dent. It seemed to ride normal in every respect - except, when I get up to 50mph, the wind catches that broken plastic piece and it drags loudly on the ground.

Normally, I would make an appointment at a local mechanic without much thought, except that I happen to be extraordinarily busy with work this week. I also have a lot of holiday driving coming up as well, which, given my schedule, could be on the chopping block if this proves to be an undrivable at highway speeds situation.

My questions for all of you are:

1. Is that dent likely to be a problem for the engine/CO in the cabin?
2. What is the plastic part that broke up front? Is it just a protective cover?
3. Is this something that needs immediate attention or something I can apply duct tape to, scrape by the holidays, and safely deal with in the new year?

Thanks for your opinions.

secure the plastic pieces so you won't damage it further

Dent in the exhaust shouldn't cause any problem.

You'll be fine, you can drill some holes in the plastic and use zip ties to stitch it together
