Used tow hook as jack point-Damage question

Hey fellas. Need some advice. 2019 Honda Civic EX Hatchback. As u all know, with how low the vehicle is and how far the main front jack point is, jacking up the car is a little of a pain. I saw a YouTube video of some guy using one jack to raise his car a little using the passenger tow hook and then being able to get the second jack under the main center jack point. I tried this the other day and all went ok until I went to lower the vehicle. When I went to get the main jack out from under the vehicle and had the weight of the car on the tow hook I heard a very loud metal crack/pop.

Scared the heck out of me but I was able to get the vehicle back on the ground. Today, I wanted to inspect what damage was done and took the smarter approach and used the pinch welds to get the car up high enough and so I could slide the main jack under the car. So what I found that has happened is that there is a bolt thread assembly right in front of the tow hook that seems to have either snapped, popped out at an angle or broke a weld, but I am not sure.

The bolt threads are now exposed. I tried to use my socket to tighten the bolt but it will not budge. I can't even loosen it. I have provided some pictures. I don't think the bolt is part of the suspension area but I also am not sure. I would appreciate any help from any of you guys if possible. I'm not a mechanic in the least. Car drives perfectly fine, but don't want any issues down the road as far as safety. Car barely has 11k miles.

Not familiar with the new cars but I'm going to guess that the front core support is plastic and you cracked that. You're probably ok safety wise but you need to bring it to the dealer and have them take a look. Remember to use the proper jacking points in the future. Hopefully it only costs you some inspection time at the dealer

Thanks for the reply. My Civic's tow hook is not the ones that come out from the radiator area. My tow hook is at the lowest point of the vehicle underneath the passenger side right in front of the oil drain pan. All parts that I can see and feel are metal. I may try a pry bar, but probably will take it to the dealership and have them take a look.

Re: Used tow hook as jack point-Damage question

There's a center jack point, basically rear subframe area. It's really far back, like behind the removable engine splash shield, but definitely useable with stock height, just FYI.

This undercarriage is for a Type R, but same applies for all hatches (unsure about coupes/sedans)
