fan noise

This is really an update, but I can't seem to locate my previous post.
A while ago I posted that I was having a higher pitch noise what I thought was the blower fan, which got worse as the rpms increased around 3-4 rpm. I contacted the dealership and they replaced the blower fan, which seemed to have helped for sometime, but recently started again. I took the car back to the dealership just this past Friday, and now they are saying that it is the ac compressor, its under warranty but will need about 3 hours to make the repair. This noise I only notice it when the heater is on its lowest speed setting, but I believe (please correct me if I am wrong) that the ac compressor is still used for making heat? Anyways, I have to schedule a time to book the car in and have this fixed, again. Just wondering if anyone out there see's this as a possible fix or not.
Thanks
Shawn

Re: fan noise

The AC is used to help pull moisture out of the air, if they're willing to do it for free I would just do it

Re: fan noise

Of I definitely will be letting the dealership change that out, for sure, but am I correct that the AC compressor is used with the heating system as well? If not then in my opinion the dealership is just trying things without knowing what the actual issue is. Then when warranty runs out they say sorry to bad so sad.

Re: fan noise

I think i am having the same problem as you and actually joined the forums looking for others. The car at 40,000 kms a 2017 Honda Civic sport touring manual has starting to make a pulsing whine noise between 2500-2700 rpms it is best heard. I am currently trying to upload a video and failing with YouTube.

Honda has failed several times to figure out what is making the noise. Honda Tech line has failed as well. It have been brought in several times and the have acknowledged the noise exists. It’s not always present. A third part was able to identify the sound with a stethoscope to be in the vents for the climate control system but it’s not coming from the air compressor. That was changed out.

I am looking for other means to share this in hopes of gaining some information. If you know how to upload videos might be helpful.
