2016 EX - Water pump replacement
Have a question on my 2016 EX civic scheduled maintenance. Car having 113k miles on it.
Is changing water pump recommended at these miles? Dealer did not mention about it until I asked. I asked because I owned a civic before (Timing belt + water pump was changed).
I understand 2016 don't have any timing belt. Dealer is quoting $1300 for the entire work. Not seeing this in recommended honda maintenance schedule manual though.

Re: 2016 EX - Water pump replacement
Typically the water pump is replaced with a timing belt because everything is already off. If it’s still functional, no reason to do it prematurely. My old TSX was still on its original when I sold it at nearly 200k miles.
