Question What's illegal about some seats?

I've heard ppl getting pulled over and given tickets for having racing seats. Which ones would those be? Or are those because of the seat belts they used? I don't see how regular reclinable seats could be illegal since the SiR pretty much has them in as stock seats.

it's not the seats, it's the seat belts that they use. As long as you have the 3-point not the 5-point seat belts then you should be safe.

I wonder if the cops know about seats brands. I have a feeling alot of these new Taiwanese copies aren't approved to use in... well anywhere! What happens if you get rear ended and your cheap seats collapses and u fall back? That's why if I were to get a racing seat, i'd spend the money and go all out.

it's the seat belts that they get ticketed for...
those aftermarket seat belts are suppose to be just for show.

another thing about it is if you were to get into an accident, the fireman might not know how to undo your seat belt if you are using an aftermarket one.

they're going to use the "jaws of life" just to unfasten your seatbelt.
it's like a chainsaw that chews on metal...
