attn: ppl with injen rd cai
i took my bumper off today to reseal my projectors and install a front lip so i took a look around the filter for the cai.
i always wondered what was causing this small rattle noise when im near redline and its the pipe nearest to the frame before the filter. its been contacting so much that theres a gash on the intake pipe. it didnt go all the way through but its a deep deep scratch.
have u guys taken a look at your filter lately?
i had to adjust it abit, relocated the whole cai a couple mm's and theres good clearance now
just wanted to let u guys know. for those who got it the same time as me that maybe it was installed a bit too close to the frame.

no way to fix it, it hits a lot of things. THe only way is find all the points it contacts something and wrap rubber or insulating foam around it... Which would look ghetto.
Just tighten the hell out of it every once in a while (when you clean filter)... Supyo did you cut anything installing the CAI or did you just squeeze it through?

My injen came with a little piece of rubber to stick between any contact points. I bought some thick-*** rad tube from Crappy Tire and stuck that in there as well. Still holdin strong, no gashes or holes!
I just realized I had the same problem too... GRRRR!!! I tried re-adjusting it but still same prob! The rubber piece that I put on there fell off.... NOTHING is working for me!! hehehe
I had this problem before... i posted it in the GTA i think... either way...
It would make the noise around 5.5 RPM
Mine was knocking against a bracket so i just took out the intake and put a **** load of duct tape around it where it was making contact... then used some zip ties to fasten it to the bracket so that it wouldn't rattle... it worked for a while but then my intake is just fuked and the filter doesn't fit properly so i took it off... haha

instal isnt that hard actually. taking out the stock air box is what took me the longest, probably around 3 hours altogether for me and i havent even touched anything to do with cars before this. all you need is a 8mm, 10mm, 12mm socket, and a normal screw driver. oh yah and an extension. as for drilling most people said you gotta cut the fender wall for the piping to fit but i was able to just squeeze it through without any trouble but you gotta take off your front bumper.
