I agree with 01coupe.
If u don't like it. don't read it.
It's mainly for those who has had problems or people who would like to know the harder side of owning a Civic.
Considering this is a forum about Civics, I think it's a fair topic and no one should be beaten down for talking about their own cars, as 01Coupe said.

I bought my Civic and 1 month later I got 4 dents. I was like "WTF, y does this car get dented so easily"..
Seriously, if I knew it had a weak body and other problems I discovered after, I would of really gone with a Corolla.
BUT if someone asks me "how are Civics". I'll tell then straight. "It has a weak body, and you might run across problems etc. etc."... I won't tell them " i love my Civic so all problems are not a problem at all, therefore it's great. go buy."

but in accident u will die in those Saturn
even a corolla, you will get dings and dents....think about where you park in the first place and maybe it will help you figure out why you have so many dings.
(Stay away from minivan, SUV, narrow parking space...etc)

I have to say our Civics do have soft bodies.. that's all cool and dandy, but I still think they should have offered FREE body molding. The fact that you have to pay for it is ridicious, since it was FREE in the past, and is FREE from most other cars.
Yes, yes... the infamous cost cutting. But who's money are they saving? Not yours.. THEIR'S.
Sure, no moldings look the car look clean as hell.. but not dents. Especially in Toronto, where parking spots are as tight as a virgin's... ...
I have so far one ding on my car.. it used to bug the hell out of me at first, but whatever, it's only a car now. I'll be selling it in 1-2 years, and will move onto a better car like the most of you, so I'm not that concerned.
I probably won't be that concered with my NEXT car either.. I'd only have a fit if it's a collectable or something that I'd keep for a LONG time (ie - Ferrari).

you just got a lemon.
they use automated test on cars and draw a normal distribution curve, most civic has good quality with little standard deviation, so I say you unluckily got an lemon civic (end tail of the distribution curve).
poor you...
hyundai....whatever...all craps

6 dents=be more careful
clutch/harder to drive=you are pathetic, it is one of the softest clutches ever, dont lay back in your seat and it is very easy to push in.
shifting into first=leave it in second until you are almost stopped, then go into first, i have never had a problem with 1st gear like everyone is always bitching about.
power windows=mine are so strong they move my whole door when they get all the way up, have no clue what you are talking about.
suspension=avoid potholes. they are not easily avoided but swerve when you are able to. all cars sound like junk when they hit large potholes.
cracked bumper=how fast were u going when u hit this "packed snow"?
maybe you should just stick with your 92 corolla then.

Man, I've had a few problems but nothing to write home about. My car has been more or less perfect thus far and if you drive it like I do and haven't made the appropirate changes than yes you will have problems....Nobody (including Honda) ever said it was a pure bread street racer right off the showroom floor.
