New car soon, what to dooooo?
New car soon, what to dooooo?
Once I get my new Civic 2003 Si, are there any things in particular that I should do... for example keep it under 4K RPM until 1000km or anything like that?
Thanks!

Thanks!
You mean break-in?
Smooth aceleration, for the clutch don't go pass 3000rpm.
Try in variations... do not cruise at the same speed
Do like 80 90 100 110 120 130 140 130 120 130 140 130 120 100 120 130 140 150.

warm up your car b4 taking it for a drive.
yes, keep it under 3000rpm... (or even lower for the 1st week)
keep it under 3000 rpm for... i say at least 5 000km. (my wrx friend kept it there for 10 000km..)
don't go over speed limit. keep it under a bit for it to slowly break in. even on the hiway... don't go over 100. do this i say for 500 km. or more.
and no point of feeding it 94 gas. reg is good for our civics.
either than that... HAPPY MODDING!!

bumdup ... whoa, you buddy kept a wrx under 3k rpm for 10K ... man that would take me 1/2 year to do that distance ... I doubt there is a point for such a long break in period. even if it is better for the car, the gains your get on longevity must be so minimal
i've hear 5k break in periods .. but that's the most hardcore, he must sleep in the car he loves it so much

same as fob said, a few ppl (sales, mechanics, friends) told me that the gen7s were all broken in at the factory.......
but still, to keep things safe, i'd keep it under 3000rpm for the first 1000km and just baby it...... then slowly increase the rpms.... a gradual break in.............

HAHHAaha, imagine if somebody buys a new car to sell the parts? :P
Booohahaha and Big you guys would be in luck
I heard that you don't have to warm up new cars, (I read it in the daily tips here). That true? I think I'm probably going to keep it under 3000 RPM until 1000km, and between 1000km-5000km, I won't go higher than 3500rpm?
great tips
