Weird Noises?!?!?

I drive a manual SI and lately I've been noticing a thumping sound when I step on the gas after shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. It sounds like something is hitting something else, what could it be? Exhaust? Intake? Has anyone else had this problem?

Now that I think of it, it did start up when the weather started getting cold. Is it something to be worried about?
