well if you cant even tell if he hit the bumper then, theres no prob
as for the wheel... again, if nothing it visable, u probably didnt do any damage... BUT you might want to get a wheel alignment (and at the same time get a mechanic to look at your rim to be sure there are no little cracks in it)

Park the car and turn the steering wheel either full right or full left. Get out and check the area behind the wheel. Tie rods, lower control arm, cv joints, etc.. make sure they're are no noticable damages and get your hand in there and start grabbing parts and wiggling them around. If anything feels loose, get a shop to check it out for you.
Also, like Falcon said, visibly check to make sure your rim is not bent/warped/cracked. If your rim is warped/bent, then the steering wheel will wobble at speeds greater then 30km/h.
EDIT: If you think you hit your bumper, check for any signs of impact (scratch, dent, chip). Also pop the hood and check the inner fender area and make sure any screws holding the front bumper haven't been broken or knocked out.

thats what this stupid girl i know did....she bent the rim and through her alignment off.. she was mad at her man and decided to gun it in snow that was 4" thick....she spun out and right into a curb...i killed a curb last year.... but my car was ok........then a curb killed me this summer.....5200 dollars damage
damn, $800 ? sounds pretty bad...
the tire didn't pop and the rim wasn't obviously damaged?
i hit a curb in my previous 7th gen....tire popped, rim was bent really badly...the axle? umm....so badly out of place the car couldn't steer anymore...insurance never told me how much damage was done..they just wrote the car off..
