Cam Gear and Pulleys

What exactly does this do for the car? My brother wants to get them but he doesn't know what it does. I was going to get them too. But I am not sure what it does too. Anyone has them or know what they do?

I install the aem and i feel it revs up faster..but if u have a system..don't get it..
cause i have system too..and it's draining the battery...a few times.
my car couldn't start up..but now i have removed it..

What do you mean by system? Car stereo system? I have stock cd player in still. Will this be bad for my car then? When you mean it drains the battery, what exactly do you mean?
