HELP! PIAA fogs no longer working :'(

I had some PIAA 1400X fogs installed at HiTech, and well, they stopped working in 1.5 months

I don't have time until the wkend to go bring the car in, but hoping in the meantime someone might know what's up...

Professionally (?) installed at HiTech, and I haven't messed with wires or fuses.... Fogs worked fine this morning, now they don't.

I went thru all the fuses under the hood (well, the small ones), all ok. I went thru half the small ones under the steering wheel... others I was too tired to reach.

There's only a relay connected to the wires to the fogs, and the bulbs look fine....

Any ideas?

Don't be worrying, HiTech will fix it up for you, they're good when it comes to that.

Bulbs might look fine even if it's blown. I'm sure PIAAs have more than 1.5month warranty on the bulbs, usually 90 days?

if both are out suddenly it could be due to one of PIAA's old design for fuse setup, i contacted PIAA myself and they sent me their new fuse setup design and my fogs are working fine now 1900x

????

The PIAA 1400X doesn't have fuses... ? I read the little instructions that came with it, and it shows a picture of the contents in the box, and shows a picture of the wiring harness, a relay, and the fogs.... no fuses.... are they INSIDE the relay?!

The 1400X is a pretty old model........

Troubleshooting

1. Check the ground. Can always be a bad ground. Clean the connection.
2. Are your parking lights coming on?
If they are not, then check the fuse for that because fogs are usually connected to the parking lights.
3. Check the power/trigger wire.
4. Check the light bulbs to see if they are working. If they are not, PIAA has 90 days warranty on their bulbs.

Should never automatically blame the place where you installed it. And as MSoft said, they will take care of it.
If I can remember, Hitech has a 90 Days warranty on their labour.
No need to fret, just go get it checked.

hey furball thats what i was thinking when people told me to change the fuse, i was like

"ok i'll change the fuse"

"wait what fuse? I only have the relay"

turned out that the relay blew and theres nothing u can do about that, thats
why PIAA set me a new wiring harness that includes the relay with a fuse, so u can
just change the fuse, u kno the 15A kind or whatever, but right now, u only have the relay
and i dont' think PIAA makes those anymore, they should provide you with a free new
wiring harness.

e-mail me at netcbc@rogers.com, i can show u the e-mail conversation i had with PIAA, it was short

Are these relay things plug and playable, in the sense that I can unplug the entire relay piece, and run into Canadian Tire, and pick one up that has this new fuse????

I'm gonna head to HiTech Saturday, but I'm thinking they're not gonna have the part, and it's gonna take a couple weeks before it gets there, then I gotta sit for like 2-3 hrs while the install the new wire harness.....

I want my fogs back!

Yup, I stood at HiTech for 3 hours when my springs were installed, 4 hours when shocks installed, and several times to look at springs rubbing (typical clanking noises) 1 hour each, and a couple of other things.

Gotta hate waiting for stuff to be done to your car!

I've got two shops to head to on Saturday

I have to head to Markham Acura (7/McCowan) to get new bushings in the driver seat), probably 1 hr. Scheduled for 9:30ish...

HiTech is open at 9... I'm hoping to sneak in and be the first one so they'll look at me before anyone else.......

Both'll take so long tho

I'm thinking HiTech first, then Markham Acura.....good idea?!
