Car decks/changer q

Don't wanna spend too much. Not a bass person either. Just wanna upgrade the stock system, maybe (maybe) upgrade the speakers at a later time.

Should I just get an FM changer, or a cheap deck + changer?

Was thinking a good price for me would be the cheapest Sony deck with a controller and the cheapest Sony changer... Looks like it'd run me less than $500 for the parts that way even from Futureshop.

Anyone can hook me up with something like that for under $500 installed? Again, not looking to spend too much, and doesn't have to be super fancy, but I'd like to have a changer with 10 or 12 discs. Thx.

low-end sony decks arent usually all that great. if you already had your mind made up on sony tho, forget futureshop and check out G&G.

someone on the site said you could hook up an alpine changer directly to the stock CD dead unit since its made by alpine. he had it installed on his ride.
not sure about the factory casette deck.

I'm not into MP3. Realized that when I didn't use my MP3 player after I bought it, just lazy to have to copy/download when buying CDs are so quick and cheap (hahahahaha, Pac Mall)...

Anyway... I've done some reading and definitely don't want FM-Mod changers now.

Thinking of either getting Kenwood or Sony (cheapest ones), or maybe if I'm desperate even JVC. Anyone can hook me up????

What do you think I should wait for? You mean save up for better system? My main reason is a changer, haha... And dun wanna actually lose quality (what's left of it) by going F-Mod. So wanna check out the best thing to do and accomplish that.

don't get an fm mod changer. you'll pay extra for that kind of changer that you could put towards a better deck. i'm a little bias towards pioneer decks since that's all i've ever had and they've been good to me. plus i sell a lot of them and they are a solid deck

i'd go with the pioneer 4400 and an add on changer.

sony is good for decks only if you buy high end

i work at future shop so that's where i sell them.

the deck you're looking at $299, changer $229. if you get it installed you're looking at ~$80 for labour and ~$30 for parts(wire harness and dash kit)

those are future shop prices. you can probably get a bit off those prices if you haggle a bit. just tell them another shop will get it to you cheaper

actually the low end sony decks are pretty good for quality, the tuners picks up reception really well, and as long as you get one with an EQ7 in it you're fine. most of the technology that pioneer and sony put in their high end decks are the exact same as in their lower end ones as well... after a while, its mostly cosmetic, especially with pioneer... my opinion anyways...

So the Sony MP30 would be a good low-end one, it doesn't have EQ7 though? I'm thinking of getting that first for the MP3 and then add a Sony 10-disc changer later... I guess $400 ones are ok, so the slightly higher Sony I can afford, or a Kenwood......
