I been getting Check Engine light on my car recently so I decided to take off my intake and put the stock one back on before taking it to the dealership. So last night, I told my brother and a friend to meet up with me at a local car wash's parking lot, since they have good lighting there (never succeeded getting it back on, BTW).. I was the first one to arrive and as I was pulling in, I saw this red musle car parked diagonally in there. It looked pretty good, very shiney & chromy.. it was a '76 Chevy Nova. First thing I noticed was that it had these mini-me wheels in the back, that's obviously designed to prevent the car from flipping over under hard acceleration. Then I noticed this HUGE 5 inch exhaust (much like what most Civics have).. through the side. And the tire? It was the widest thing I've ever seen, I never knew they made them that wide.

Anyways, my brother and my friend showed up shortly after and we began working on my car. Pretty soon all the cars started pulling in.. a WRX.. a dun up 80's mustang... and later, Lord behold, a Dodge Viper RT/10! I thought it was a GTS first, because of the blue & white stripe paint job, but it was a roadster with a black top. I think it was like a 2001, because it had thick spoke rims, and I think they started putting those on in 2001, or 2000 by earlier. My friend knew the guy, he used to sell cars for him. So he goes up and chats with him... the guy in the Nova comes up to me, and asks me if I had a wretchet. I joked around with him for a bit, said he can borrow it if he beats me at a race... later the guy in the Viper checks out the Nova and challenges him for a race. After a few minutes of chat, they agree to race...

Cool we thought, we were actually gonna see a Viper go hard!! So we quickly put our tools away and hop into my friend's Corolla.. the Nova started up, and HOLY SH*T, it was the LOUDEST THING I ever heard!! I thought something had exploded! I don't know if any of you guys ever been to a Monster Truck event, but it was louder than that! The Viper was Lexus-quiet compared to this thing. The guys in the WRX wanted to check out the action too I guess, because they were following us after the Viper as well. Eventually we got to this wicked set of lights--it's over a flat bridge, with 4 lanes, and it goes a looong way before the next set of lights. And because it's a bridge, there are no cops hiding.

I headr both of them revving as the lights were about the turnn green.. the Viper sounded awesome!! The Nova was DEAFENING... when the lights turned green, both of them lit up blue smote then took off!! We were all thinking the Viper is gonna teach this dude a lesson.. but HOLY HELL IN MOTHER OF GOD, this guy started pulling away from the Viper--HARD HARD HARD!!! By end of the race (which was like 5 seconds) the Nova was like... 50 car lenghts ahead of the Viper!! I have never in my life seen anything on wheels, bikes or drag cars, that quick... we all pulled back into the car wash and needless to say, this guy was super popular.

We all asked him what the hell he had under the hood.. so he pops it.. he says it's a C12 engine (???).. whatever that hell that iss. He says it is a pure racing engine, with 13:1 compression ratio. He said he runs jet fuel, and costs him $200 a night. Then I saw all these purple things with hoses.. I asked him what that was. He said that's his secret weapon, which he had just used.. a nitro oxide fogger system. He showed me the bottle and it was a freakin JET PACK. The whole car was immaculate though. I could litterally eat off of his engine bay. Everything was show quality chrome.. even the headlights were clear multi-reflectors, like our Civics. Anyway, I asked him what he does 1/4mile, he said he didn't know, since he's never been to the track. But he says he dynoed it, and pulled off over 1200HP!! WTF... that is totally insane. Considering my car has 115HP... so I asked him how much he invested.. he says a HUNDRED... damn.. I believe him too.

He wasn't a redneck though.. he actually likes Jap cars and had a Stillen 300ZX TT as his last car, with a "modest" 450HP. The ugy was only 36.. and owns a garbage dump. Damn I was I was rich!! Be able to have all those toys.......

damn thats sick.......he must to around 9's or tens if he can beat a viper.....
