I have heard horror stories about bagging your ride. However, I do admit it looks pretty cool! Air ride can be very bumpy! I saw 2 cars at Scarborough Town with hydraulics and both their rear ends were bouncing up and down really high! From what I know, air rods are suppose to give you a better ride quality than the bags.

There is someone on 2k1 with a air ride civic.....lemme find, well I got some pics.....too big to upload, if only I can find a good free webhost.

I direct you to THIS!

i've seen on tv that heavy duty trucks actually use bags for suspension...
the bags themselves "seem" sturdy, but i wouldn't know... i guess pin point holes can destory it....

FlippedOut - After going into this topic more, the ride quality in air ride set ups can be as good or even better than stock struts assuming it was installed properly and the car is at its normal height. Now since most air ride set ups are "generic" and are adapted to work with your vehicle, there are places for errors. An air ride will allow you to increase/decrease your vehicle height from the "normal" height by about 2 inches. I would also recommend emailing 01EXtc as he is in the developement of his own patent pending air ride set up. Depending on how good of a set up you want, it ranges from $1500-$2000 U.S.

THANKS!!!

very informative...
you guys answered every question in mind...

except one... im thinking about the compressor... (is it heavy)???
i know my car isn't fast, and i know it's not really worth supping up the engine unless i do an engine swap
but a heavy car = slower acceleration...

stillmatik23: you got hooked up sweet... your soo lucky... can you quote me on his prices? if it's within my secret range, i'll be the first cust at his door for air susp.

Once you put air there ain't no goin fast. Also yer gonna end up using cylinders not bags. If u wanna go fast get 2 compressors and 2 tanks, 1/2 line most likely. The back will drop quite a bit while the front will as well but not sa much because of the front suspension. If yer lookin for someone who's done it for a long time and has lots of nice show carz I can refer you to Choice Customs call them and ask for Paul and tell him what u wanna do and he can ballpark it for you. If u swing by there you can see some of the cars that they've done more recently....check em out...some good work...
