higher speed limits
Ontario"s transportation minister wanting to raise speed limits on 400 series and 401 Yes im all for it, cosidering at one time 40 some odd years ago it was set higher but because of the fuel crisis in the 70"s it was lowered for drivers to conserve fuel since there was a fuel crisis at that time but all this time its stayed that way ever since time for a change if You ask me.

Re: higher speed limits
15-20 km more on todays Vehicles vs a 30-40 year old vehicle from the Past is nothing vehicles 10-15 years old & newer can handle a heq of alot better from Past vehicles newer vehicles over all have become alot more safer to drive Silica gripier tires, many have traction control, stabilty control, lane sensing alertness, theres even vehicles equiped with brake assist that apply the brakes for You many safety options incrporated into vehicles nowa days i see no problem. as long as your with-in the posted speed limit Your in Control.

Re: higher speed limits
Most people don't drive faster than they feel safe, and when you drive faster you pay attention.
For example here in bc the limit is 100km but you won't find anyone doing less than 130km. And our roads feel pretty safe well past that (I've heard, wink, wink). People don't magically die past the speed limit.
Re: higher speed limits
There is no coalition between speed limit and increase in accident rate. The autobahn system has the same accident rate as the US highway system.

roadways to judge upon on weather to pass upon or not.! and yes seconds are of the essence for passing & overtakeing another vehicle on narrow roadways i dont blame them? been there before i seen it and understand it. every country adopts to there driving styles its something that every driver adapts to in there teritory of driving from Country to Country. i really beleive some of the best drivers including truck drivers are of European decent. because of there everyday driving challeges found with-in there country.
