burning oil

I just bought a 2003 civic si, it has 100,000kms, it is burning oil about 1 litre every 3,000 kms. Honda will not cover the warranty as I'm not the 1st owner and there are no records on this car. What can I do, or what should I do. I have only hd it 2 months

any advise would help

Re: burning oil

Are you driving the car pretty hard? If not you may have some internal engine damage such as warn piston rings, or a bad headgasket or something. I'd take it back to where you got it from but if its a private sale, you might be out of luck.
