car is lagging out of every gear... what's wrong?

my car is lagging out of every gear, no power whatsoever...... it takes like 7seconds for me to generate enough speed to get out of first gear and into second.

i think my clutch is worn out... but im not 100% sure. anybody had this problem yet??

what else could be the problem.... what do i need to change?
i just changed my spark plugs recently.. but i dont think that's the problem.

if i change the clutch.. does that mean i need a new tranny?
my car is at 145k now.... still have the stock clutch/tranny

wow, 270k ? nice

it might be the clutch, do you beat on it a little bit? or do you ride your clutch often? you dont need to replace your entire tranny to change the clutch.

brought it to a shop.. they said it was my clutch. so now im going performance clutch and flywheel..... i just said wth... give me the whole package o_O .... didnt want to machine the stock flywheel if a new performance flywheel would cost me another 100 or so...

was driving yesterday and my car started to lose ALL POWER on the dvp... so i pull off the on york mills exit and then NO POWER WHATSOEVER...... my clutch gave out totally..... had to tow it to the shop yesterday and now it's sitting there till tomorrow.

as for the spark plugs... honda recommends you change it every 140k or so according to the manual.. but you should/could change it at 48k or so...

my car is standard....

what do you guys mean by riding the clutch or beat it on a little bit?

thanks

riding the clutch is when u keep it depressed at red lights or use it to hold the car when ur supposed to put it in neutral and use the brakes. beating on ur clutch is using it to do launches.

No your car will be very laggy. My friends VW had this problem. Throwing codes meaning is there an engine light? when you plug in a obdII scanner it reads you a code telling you whats wrong.

your current problem is the clutch or transmission, but if you don't take care of the timing belt soon it'll become a problem later on, I did timing belt, gasket and water pump @ 150k.

i do find myself at times depressing the clutch at red lights... using it for a rolling start... by semi depressing the clutch <--- if that makes any senses.

even though i did that... it can do that much damage that my clutch has worn out literially at 145k....?
