Anybody else done a tranny flush in their vic?
I just did a tranny fluid change in my vic. I'm so impressed with the difference it makes. I was read the manual, and it says you should do it like every 5 years or something like that. My car only has 37, 000 kms, and my car is about 2 and half years old.
I know all of our cars have shifting problems, and so on. I'm probably going to do this every year. Its so easy to do, and it cost $18 for 2 bottles of MTF from Honda.
The first instance I got in my car, I was so impressed with the change it actually makes. Shifting is soo much smoother, even though its the same crap honda put in from the factory.
For those with a 5spd civic, and have never done a tranny fluid change. I'd recommend you do one. It'll impress the crap out of you. Total cost in parts for me, around $40 dollars. I had to buy a manual pump from crappy tire to pump in the new MTF. For those who are wondering how hard this job is. If you can do an oil change, you can do this, virtually the same thing.
Anyways, I just wanted to post this for everyone's info.

i changed at 96000...
and i use royal purple in my tranny. and I use 10W30... not their syncromax. (royal purple says that 10W30 works better than syncromax for our honda tranny)
my tranny works smooth like butter right now.

Yeah I just started doing it cause there was a whirring noise on clutch-in that appeared right around 2 oil changes but as soon as I changed the fluid it'd be gone. Plus it can't really hurt anything but my pocketbook....

I wonder if this helps your idle? (autotragic)... My idle when 'in gear' is kinda shakey..... I remember doing my 96k ATF change at the dealer, it felt pretty good after.... maybe I'll get one done at a local shop......... hrm....

and what stories could you possibly have that relates to changing transmission oil?
... and please.. this is the internet, we are not here to construct proper sentences with perfect grammar..
and 02blkcivic, if you were trying to show us some proper engrish, it would be, "Yes, proper English." with a comma...
c'mon people... lighten up
I can't believe i have to spell it out....it had nothing to do with you shay...your name just happened to be the one beside the title......
anyways...
nobody finds...."anyone done a tranny?" funny?....as in transvestite....i am sure telly will agree with me...

hmm ya back to the topic, I'm at 155000km, about 500 track km's, I think its about time to do it! transmision feels jerky everytime I shift unless I do a 100% accurate rev-match if you know what I mean. so ya I'm gonna "buy some good oil and do my transmision" this weekend lol. Where do u guys get the fluid from? honda? Are there different kinds?

just did a quick search on google. quarts and litres are almost identical. almost 1:1 ratio.
check it out.

So you probably need like 1.7-1.8 litres.
