Talk about OEM quality... Should I return the part?
I have a 2001 Acura EL...
I had my headlights blacked out by Telly back in the day.... and given the life of clear silicon sealant, it's leaked a total of about 4 times.
I give up.
So I go and buy 2005 Acura EL headlights from the dealer, costing about $600
I finally have time to open the boxes, and one of the corners of the damned headlights is not sealed properly! I see there's gray sealant, but it wasn't pressed in, so the last clip doesn't lock into place....
Sons of bishes.... It basically looks like somebody did a great job cracking them open, warped it, and did a perfect job gluing it back together.... I'll try to get a pic....
Should I return it? Problem is I booked Telly to help me install on Monday (tomorrow), and if I head back to dealer, I'll have to not only complain, but if I do get it, wait as least 1 business day to get a new one....
The gap is probably 3mm if not more.... (i.e. it didn't snap fully shut when they sealed it......)
I'll try to grab a pic soon.

you paid 6 bills... DAMN MAN! Go take them back if they have a defect in them.
BTW... I didn't know the 05 lights fit the 01's... Post pics when you get them on.

Dang, I wish I had money I'd buy them off you cause I was going to do a retrofit anyway, but what with my starter dying last night I'm thinking I should focus my priorities on my poor overbeaten motor for a while.

I ended up getting a replacement without much hassle.
It was the driver-side headlight, it was brand spanking new. Because I didn't have my invoice with he, the guy at the counter said to just show him the invoice when I went to pick it up.
So, I now have 2 brand new EL headlights sitting at home, awaiting install...
I'm getting a bit concerned. It didn't come with the bottom metal bracket, or the grommet.... The biggest concern is I don't see where the bracket would bolt onto the headlight.... i.e. it may be differant than the 2001s.... Even though I bet all of this on based on a post on ClubEL - Some guy said he was able to do it :'(

Anyway, Telly or anyone that's familiar with headlights.... does the 'bottom' of the headlight look right? I only see 1 hole to mount the bracket; I can't remember how the brackt is held in place...

That's perfect, the bracket really only bolts on to one part, see that metal clip at the bottom right of the last picture? The other part of the bracket bolts on to the bumper, and goes through the hole in the bottom left of the second last picture. It's a direct bolt-on, I don't expect any required modifications.
