f*cking dings!

i just washed my car today and i noticed a ding in my passenger side door. it makes me so mad that people are so careless when they open their doors. i try my best to park away from other cars but sometimes you have no choice so i at least try to make enough room for the other person to open their doors generously. after buying my car brand new four years ago i have been egged once(which left a nice round outline on the paint) and four dings, all of which were caused by inconsiderate people .

i wish i could catch them doing something like this, i'd kick their f*cking a**, kidnap them and force them to empty out their bank account. then i'd strip them of their clothing and drop them off, deep in some remote, wooded area in the middle of the night. that should teach them to be more considerate of other peoples property.

Ya, you really cant prevent **** like this which is unfortunate. I havent gotten any door dings but ive had someone lovetap me while parking thier car which took 2 little chunks out of the rear bumper, rub my fender leaving a line of fine scratches, and a mudflap thrown into the air and landed on the roof of my car (ya im looking at you KnightX lol). Cant forget the infinite amound of stonechips from stupid trucks.

those dent removing people are all a bunch of crooks. they charge anywhere from $75 to $150 to pop out a ding. i had one done on my car two and a half years ago and the bastard charged me the max $150 and the ding was not even completely removed as it was still noticeable upon close inspection. i'm not even going to bother with the current dings i have on my car as it's not worth repairing them only to have some ******* at the supermarket ding it again.

yeah i hate door dings. i caught one guy and made him cough up the $230 that dent doctor charged... only cuz the ding was right on the brace and took them like 4 hours to fix. the other one was caused by some jackass at yorku. when i saw it, i had tears in my eyes and didnt sleep for a few days.

im so careful about these kinda things, not just cuz im a car enthusiast but because i respect other peoples belongings. i cant understand why other people simply dont care. its such a pissoff.
try to park next to nice cars, thats the best advice i can offer

thats a stereotype. its the type of person not the type of car. when i had my 87 jetta pos with dents and peeling paint I was always careful not to ding peoples door and this was at a time when i didn't have any interest in cars (obviously).

try this: everytime you gonna park your car...try not to care that people will hit you - instead of always being a pessimist about it. you'll find out that the less you care about your car the less it will get a ding........works for me

i think that's more psychological than anything because the less you care about your car the less you will notice dings and blemishes as you tend not to even check. that in no way will reduce the amount of dings on your vehicle especially if you park like a jacka$$ and leave a foot of room for people to get in/out of their vehicles or constantly park in high traffic parking lots(eg. mall or supermarket parking especially the ones that use shopping cart dispensers).

That's not a ding. That's a hole buddy.

Back on topic. As it goes for dings. It will happen regardless of how careful you are. I have only one door ding on my car, and I notice all the time. Its barely noticeable, but I notice it, because its my car. 99% of people will never notice this ding on my car unless I point it out.

I would not even bother fixing dings unless it cracks the paint and goes to the bare metal. You don't want rust of course. If its just a ding, it happens. No matter how careful you are, most people don't give a crap about their cars as much as we do.

If you do decide to fix your dings, you gotta ask yourself this question. After you fix it, your probably going to get more dings. Are you going to dish out more and more money for each ding????

Everytime I wash my car. I find new scratches, new paint chips, etc... Regardless of what you drive, your car will never be flawless. oh, btw. I have a penny size chip in my driver size door as well. I really don't know what happened, but its there. I just used a touch up pen from Honda. No rust since. Its now noticeable, but I'm not fixing it. What if I get T-boned from someone in the future?? I'd probably end up getting a new door.

Cars are money pits, use the money you have on them wisely. I mean I'd rather use the money for mods, rather than fixing dents. Its your money though.

i agree with you 100%. since i bought my car i've spent at least $300 on dings and seat repair(cigerette hole) only to get dinged again. in the end you spend more time worrying about your car than enjoying it. i'm through with fixing minor cosmetic flaws on my ride. i will no longer hand over my hard earned cash to these crooks, especially those ding removal people and bodyshops/paintshops in general.

I guess that would work, but what if you value your car more than most people's lives?

most people are idiots. fact of life. deal with it and move on. wanna know how many people here do anything to their car other than get in and step on the gas? hmm 2% maybe. most people dont even know how to operate a car let alone care for it.
