Winter Prep(coilovers)

So I'm finally getting my car ready for winter, about time eh. Getting some winter tires pretty soon too(that will end up being another topic lol).

For those who have gone through the winter with coilovers what kind of grease or anti-seize are you using? I went to canadian tire and bought some multi-purpose grease/wheel bearing lubricant(quaker state), but I seen some others and now I'm second guessing if I should use what I have.

So if anyone could please tell me what they use, also if you use the liquid or spray?

I'm also planning on getting undercoating/rust proof with Krown, should I still put the grease, before/after or not at all?

thanks

Wrap the threads in duct tape. Not alot, just one layer because it will be hard to get off in the spring. Grease will attract more crap then aynthing.

Why do you guys get your car "ready for winter", I have no idea never living out of FL, It seems like a pain in the A$$, Ive seen guys here take off entire bodykits and change rims too, is it that harsh driving in snow?

Yes it's actually really bad. If you drive on summer tires, the rubber will freeze up and it will be like driving on hard plastic for tires. They use salt on the roads in most of Canada and that can wreak havock on rims and paint ... including that on a body kit. Keep in mind that the salt grains are the size of small rocks. and if you loose control on a highway or local road and you take a snowbank or ditch you better pray you have your kit off.

yeah winter suck but in NC our winters have become less dangerous. not as much snow as there used to be, it hardly snows more than an inch anymore, but we do get that damned freezing rain like there is no tomorrow. i just try to stay off the roads cuz all the people with 2wd RWD SUVs come outta the wood work and think they can go anywhere and cause alot of accidents and traffic hold ups. I actually last year passed over a dozen SUVs stuck on this little inclined hill that was covered in ice, i had a hard time getting up the hill at first but then i just put it in first and floored it and just spun my tires all the way up the hill the onlookers faces were fantastic just like look at that crazy kid.

Its funny, in the city that I go to for school, we have huge hills that are always covered with snow/ice you always see cabs getting stuck half way cuz they are rwd crown vics and what not.. Then you just see me fu cking flying snow everywhere, sideways what not !! but i some how manage to make it up.. except this one time had to slide all the way down. but point of the story is a laughed when i read ur quote .
