2001 Civic/EL headlight aiming?
Hi guys...
Searched the forums, but the only thread here no longer has pics, and the pics that are there don't look like they're from a 7th gen...
Having problems with my HID... TechOne Bi-Xenons do NOT work on 7th gens, so beware... They work low beam only.... can't figure out how to get high beam working... anyway...
Trying to reduce some of the glare by pointing my headlights down, but don't know how... There's a D \_/ U symbol on the headlight (looking 'towards' the car, like a deer), so I slowly cranked the bolt towards D (i.e. counter-clockwise)... Because it's such a tight fit, I got the tip of a swiss army knife blade in there, and slowly cranked it 1 "tooth" at a time... Took like 5 minutes to crank 4 full revolutions...
Anyway... Went for a drive, and well, a cabbie quickly pulled over, then got behind me and high-beamed my butt...
WTF? I thought D stood for DOWN... I also kinda noticed that even MORE signs were being lighted up MORE.... so I spent another 10 minutes in the dark cranking them back to "stock", with mosquitos biting me.... It looks a bit better now, which means I'll try cranking it 4-5 times to the "U" direction....
Am I doing this right? How many times did you adjust yours, if you had glare issues? 5? 10? 50? ??? It feels like alot for me, because I'm cranking 1 'tooth' at a time.
The DIY hosted here says that I should be adjusting an actual alley key screw somewhere embedded deeper in the headlight.... is that right?

yeah i had the same issue as u did, but then i figured out theres a hex head screw deep in one of the hole in the headlight assemble. If u find the screw its really easy to aim ur headlights, park ur car in front of a wall then u can see the cutoff of the light. I will try to take some pics for u.
