Are we hated?
I'm just upset because I recieved 2 tickets from the police tonight. One for 10 kms over and the other for rolling a stop sign. (which I never rolled)
I came to the stop sign stopped and went. The officer told me I didnt wait 3 seconds.
I'm just shocked....and frustrated..Anyone please give me some input on how to fight these tickets or should I just dump $500 for X-Copper.
Also On the way home from the frustrating night..there was a heavy down poor. and my car being lowered and having the Fuzion Zr-I tires I was hydroplaning all over the highway and only doing 90 kms.
I'm now contemplating on selling all my mods and selling the car due to it being a cop magnet, and not suitible for canadian weather/roads.

as far as your tickets go.... dont bother going to xcoppers.... its not worth it if its not a serious offense....
from my personal experience... when dealing with "minor" tickets such as yours.... as long as you show up to court, 90% of the time they automatically drop the tickets without any explanation on your behalf.
And with reguards to your mods.... i know how you feel..... i too get harrassed daily by cops..... 2 months ago i was filling up gas and a cop corners me and gives me a ticket for not having my front license plate on.... and when i asked him what i did wrong... he said "i have suspicion to believe your car can go fast"...... then when i tried to plead with him, he said get lost before i give you a ticket for your muffler (during which time my car WAS NOT EVEN ON!)
Anyways.... what it comes down to is this.... if you like modding your car... you have to accept the consequences... whats even worse is that as time goes on, things will become worse... not better..... there will be more cops... the laws/regulations will become more strict, and ultimately more tickets will be handed out.
anyays good luck in court.

Does the law really state that you must wait three seconds? I thought it was stop and make sure the way is clear or go when its your right of way.
EDIT:
You dont have to stop for three second so you should be able to fight that one
136. (1) Every driver or street car operator approaching a stop sign at an intersection,
(a) shall stop his or her vehicle or street car at a marked stop line or, if none, then immediately before entering the nearest crosswalk or, if none, then immediately before entering the intersection; and
(b) shall yield the right of way to traffic in the intersection or approaching the intersection on another highway so closely that to proceed would constitute an immediate hazard and, having so yielded the right of way, may proceed. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 136 (1).

Some cops can be *****. I haven't had any really big problems, but you also have to remember, alot of the times these dealings with police happen either very early in the morning, or very late at night when they don't have anything better to do. I was followed to work one morning at 4:30 am the cop took his time and actually parked his car in front of mine. (keep in mind this certain police officer was very far behind me) anyways, I asked him if there was any problem. all he said was "Do you have a lisence plate cover on the back of your car?" He never even saw the back of my car. I told him yes, and he issued me a warning. Then he gave me a lecture. I respect police officers, but only when they aren't abusing their power.
its one of those things that u deal with when you modify your car...especially a honda civic.
avoiding highly patrolled areas with your car if its 'flashy' or 'loud' is a sad reality about driving a modded car.

Believe it or not, there is an "unwritten" quota that ticket cops have to fill.
You just had bad luck and ran into an as_hole who wanted to show you who was the boss. Ask anyone familiar with traffic tickets, and they will tell you 10 over is bullsh:t.
If you don't have the confidence, or time, I'd say hire a paralegal. It will be well worth it, and your insurance will thank you when both tickets are thrown out.
