Need help with headlights
Hi CanEast!
I just saw this posted, and I really like what he did with his headlights. Currently I have eyebrows painted in SSM attached to my OEM lights, can anyone help me clear 'em and black 'em out? I'll be in the GTA for the july longweekend and would GREATLY appreciate any help anyone can give.
Thanx a lot!

Clearing your headlights isn't so bad.. as long as you have an idea of what you're doing. If you follow the DIY on this site, it's quite easy.. mind you, everyone has their own little trick to making the task more efficient, etc. Unless of course you just want someone there to help ya out and make sure it's being done properly?
I've only cleared mine, haven't blacked em out.. but I can't imagine it being much harder once you have the unit opened up and got the right tools.

hey!
I figured it would be faster and a whole lot safer to have someone help me out with the removal of the headlights and "cracking" them open. I really don't want to buy replacement headlights if I accidentally break the lenses. and I'm not sure if those eyelids would be a problem. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanx

here's what i used to reblack my angel eye projectors.
1) adhesive sealant (black stuff. i used this instead because the regular silicone kinda melts when it reaches high temps and comes off..which leads to fogging up)
2) can of spray paint
3) philips flat head to pry open the headlight. and the clips if its oem headlights
4) oven ( most efficient way to melt the oem sealant) or you could use a heat gun or a hair dryer..Dryer case..someone on the board has tried so.....ur call on that.
that's about it. do it right and you're set. hope that helps

Thanx FaiJai, I've heard of the oven tip before.. I was just worried about what the oven would to the the eyelid I have attached to the headlights... I dunno how to get those eyelids off now, it seems to be stuck on there securely with a lot of double sided tape.
In addition to what Faijai said, you will also need to sand down the parts which are going to be painted, OR leave them as is, spray primer on what you want to paint, and paint over it
so you'll need either:
Sand paper
Primer
Or both if youd really like...
Some headlights, i know my 2003 headlights, actually are kept tight and in place by a screw, but not a regular philips or flathead... It was a T-15 bit. You should have it in your tool-set if you have one but just be aware that you may need one so have a car nearby ready to go so if need be, you can take that car to your local hardware store to get the screwdriver... Cuz ya dont wanna be driving around without headlights on your ride... although if you do, be sure to snap us some pics!
Heres the best pic i could find of the t-15, just to give you an idea...
