Honda vs Hummer

Got rocked by a H2 two nights ago. He backed into my car while i was in Business Depot. He stuck around and waited i guess because so many people saw him and it's not hard to track a Hummer if i needed to. Bill came up to $1970.00 plus rental from Honda. His xcratch will buff right out. The thing that made me laugh is that Honda is repalacing the civic emblem for $32 and charging 6 minutes labor to stick it on.

Damn, although it just goes to show that most people that drive these big Stupid Useless Vehicles (SUVs) can't properly judge distance.

lucky he stuck around, I am surprised he was willing to pay you, its private property so its 50/50 liability. As in he pays his and you pay yours, I always dread hitting someone on private property

I think that 50/50 thing is a myth. I mean, if someone hits a parked car which is in a regular spot, how can they be ecpected to to take 50% of the blame?

Thats true. You're basically paying for the damage on YOUR car, for HIS stupidity.

Your insurance will likely pay your 50% if necessary but go after the other guy's insurance for the 50% back IF AND ONLY IF they have a case... even if it's private property. Doesn't matter.

(and they'll jack your next year rates up 50% too)

OK honestly, why make an insurance claim if the guy will settle CASH! He's obviously got the money if he's driving an H2.

If the guy is willing to give you the cash to get it all fixed, than don't even bother calling your insurance company. But on the other hand, if he's gonna be a dink about it, milk his insurance company for eveything they have. That thing about 50/50 is stupid, and if they give you a hard time over it, take'em to court!
