What kind of oil do u guys use??
Just wondering what oil does everyone use here??
I use amsoil synthetic 5w20. The only reason I use it, is that I can't find mobile 1 synthetic 5w20. I don't think the 5w20 mobile 1 synthetic exist. I've look at crappy tire, and none there.
I've decided with amsoil now, since they make synthetic 5w20, and I can get it cheaper than mobile 1. Even if there is a mobile 1 5w20 synthetic, its too late now. Cost me cheaper than mobile 1, and does the same job.
So what do u guys use??
(I'm assuming most you guys change your own oil?? no??)

I just bought Castrol GTX 5w20 from part source.
they have it on special.
I couldnt find a good filter so I am using shtty Orange brand.
didnt use any synthetic oils at first, so I dont bother paying extra $$ for it, hell it runs good with regular oil anyways

If you compare to the cost of mobil one which is around $30 dollars give or take. Its around the same price range, before taxes. After taxes, mobil 1 cost more.
To buy from amsoil, you have to sign up for a membership. Its $15 cdn for half a year, or $30 for the full year. I paid $15 just to try it out.
I figured if I'm going to use amsoil, I might as well get it as cheap as I can.
I need cheap synthetic oil to go with all my oil filters...haha.

I kept 30 of the filters, and I bought 12 of them for my brother.

I've also had a hard time finding full synthetic oil. 5W20 is semi-synthetic anyways, so it's not too bad, but I want the best for my baby.
I know Mobil 1 make 5w20, but they don't sell it here in Canada. I've been looking for Royal Purple, without much luck, but I know of some people that have found it.
Nameless, where did you get the Castrol Syntec?
The AMSOil sounds like a good idea, but I only change my oil 3 times a year anyways, I don't put a lot of kms on my car, so the membership fee would make it a bit more expensive than I would like.

If anyone's intersted, I was just at my local Canadian Tire and I found Mobil1 0w20 oil. It's supossed to flow better at low temperatures than 5w20 oils.
Apparently they just started carrying it this March. Up until now it's only been available in the US.

I noticed Cdn Tire now has Motomaster Formula 1 Full Synthetic 5w20 in 4.4L jugs, believe it was $27.99
Anyone using that?
The only other 5w20 Synth they carry is in 1L containers (Castrol and QS). I suspsect the Motomaster is made by one of those big suppliers.

If i switch over I'm probably going to stick with that for the life of my car, I don't really like changing oil brands & types (so far I've had Honda's, Quaker State, and Castrol and even that is too many IMO heh)
with my 1.7L sohc motor i went 11000km without an oil change once...that was with ams oil
but with the canadian tire brand its a good idea to go 8km
be thankful its 8km...most other cars are either 5000 or 6000km
i know guys with turbo cars that do oil changes every 3000km.
pay to play

guys i just went to canadian tire and got mobil 1 0w20 (say right on the container made for ford and honda 5w20 engines). so i have no idea why you can't find it where you are. BTW i only found it in 1L containers not the 4.4L ones. $8 each but worth it IMO.

It's great though, over the last couple of months they've added Castrol Syntec, Quaker State, and even Motomaster Formula-1 in 5w20.
