summer rims in February?

three guys on my block are already driving with summer rims on.

as tempted as i've been with all this warmer weather, i'll be putting mine back on in the first week of march.

just curious but who's already got their summer blings on?

btw: one or two months of snow driving can't hurt your rims if you constantly rinse the salt off can it?

I know a lot of people who have thier summer rims on already. A few other that I know didnt bother taking them off to begin with. 2 other people pulled thier show cars out of hibernation cuz they think that its gonna get warmer from now on. I put a set of rims onto a friends car 2 weeks ago when there was still snow on the gound... so ya, with all this being said, there are a lot of people with thier **** on

Geezuz, your friend's ok I hope. I assume the cop was to blame in the incident?

This warm weather is just a tease. I don't put my wheels back on until the end of march. I wait for all the crap to get rinsed off the roads.

Damn!!! That's a crazy fvcking accident! Hope your buddy was alright.

Anyways, don't put your rims on yet... mother nature is a slút and she'll dump snow on us again.

Definitely way too early, in spite of the warmer weather winter is not over and it will get colder and likely snow still. I've seen my share of people driving around on rims with low-pro summer rubber as well, but I think most of these people are dumb enough to be driving on them all year round.

some people that drive on summer wheels all year round do so because they sold their oem wheels to buy summer wheels and now can't afford to buy winter wheels. these people are the ones that can barely pay their car insurance let alone a set of rims but still want to mod their cars. i laugh at people like that. LOL!

its supposed to snow near the end of the week, so its not a good idea to put summers on.

don't, the salt on the roads will damage the rims!
you probably don't have all seasons on your summer rims either

don't do it, not worth the risk

call me an idiot or whatever you want but i couldn't resist...i just had to put my summers on. watching the guys on my block drive around with their summer rims earlier today was too much, i broke down.

ah well, even if it snows i don't need to drive my car too far since my work is only 15 min from my house and if it snows hard i'll just take the bus.(i've already bused it once this winter) LOL!

Ya, my friend is ok. He walked away without a scratch. The police are paying to relpace the cars that they damaged. There are also 1 or 2 more cars that got wrecked that were infront of the ones in the pic. So in total, the police have to pay off 4 damaged cars.

What speed was that cop flying at when he hit your friend? guessing they were responding to an emergency.. but **** they aren't supposed to cause their own.. ah well, **** happens.. As long as your friend is good - cars can be replaced, people can't

Now as for putting on your summers .. Don't succumb to peer pressure/nice teasing weather.. besides the roads are still shitty. Though if you really really have to, take the time when it gets **** to switch back - before you do too much damage

Were the conditions as horrible as Sunday morning around 9AM? Cuz if so, i believe him.
I was driving at that time and the fog was the worst I've ever seen, you could literally only see the color of the lights at intersections about 5 before where you were to stop. That was bad

even if there's no snow on the ground until spring you shouldn't put on your summers....the compound will harden in this temperature like it would in October. My tires would flat spot in +5 if I left the car parked for more than 5 hours. they won't grab either...It would be like driving with solid rubber wheels or something...very unsafe.
