Sparco Seat - Somethings not right

I also posted this in tech stuff but thought I'd see if any CanEast member know about any of this stuff,

Hey

When I got my sparco seats I asked around about how and what i need to install them. I decided to go with sparco equipment. DEZOD and a few others told me I needed the bases (5005024, 5005025), the sliders (00493) and the hardware kit (00501). I would have ordered through him but with customs and canadian tax it is too complicated and $$ to bring it over the border.

SO I went to the local shop and they told me I also needed a "500" adapter kit. So all said and done it was 513 CDN (430US) just for the install equipment. This seems rediculus.

What i want is if my local shop accidentatly ripped my off because they sold me an extra $100 of stuff I didnt need. However, whats confusing, if you look at the picture I attached it seems like you definately need the 500 adapter or the install would be impossible.

So I want to know how people can install the seats without the 500 adapter or if the 500 adapter is supposed to come with the base, in which case I was inadvertantly ripped off.

Any help is appreciated, I've been trying to figure this out for weeks.

I posted a reply to this in the other one you posted. You need the adapter cuz if you look closely, our bracket isnt really made by sparcro. It's made by wedge engineering. I think you got ripped off though cuz i didnt pay that much for the hardware. $80 for adapters, $110 for the sliders, $80 i think per bracket. So in total, i only paid about $270-$300 for all mine.

Thanks transformer guy,

THe hardware kit is a bunch of screws and stuff. The adapter kit comes with its own screws so thats one thing I need to take back for sure.

Also, where did you get your stuff transformer guy?

EDIT: another thing, did you get a handle with your sliders?

OK well i didnt get a handle with my sliders.. so i think i will complain about that too.

Anyway, I looked at the prices on JRPonline and they are pretty much the same as what I paid. I guess it pays to have a friend on the inside. HAHA

I also gave you reputation points transformer guy

what are reputation points? I dont get it... and ya, you should complain. Also, JRP's retail prices that they show on the website are pretty expensive. I think the best place for you to get parts is automotive warehouse. Isnt it like 36km from the border?

I did get them at automotive warehouse. There prices matched the JRPonline prices. They are pretty much consistent with sparco's website too when you consider the exchange.

Thats some messed up ****. When I went down to automotive warehouse to pick up my kit and hood, the prices for the sparco sprint seats were the same price as my friends wholesale price at JRP. I think it was $220 per seat at the time

Yeah but how long ago was that...they told me that they hardly sell any sparco stuff anymore. Its all about Tom's Motorsports now. So that probably means they lost there really good prices from their distributors.

BOttom line is though, it cost me an arm and a leg for my butt to be comfortable.
