Drilled ones are more in danger of cracking. Slotted ones have a reputation for chewing up pads faster, but at least they won't crack.

1llmatic will become famous soon enough
depends on the quality of the rotor.

the nickel cadium coated rotors are expensive but will never rust.

Actually... crossdrilled rotors used to crack. New technology and better quality crossed-drilled rotors are in no danger of cracking more so then blank rotors now adays.
Old crossdrilled rotors used to be drilled in random spots. New crossdrilled rotors are drilled in a specific pattern to achieve optimal cooling/venting and prevent cracking.

Example of some high quality crossdrilled/slotted rotors:

RacingBrake Rotors

Brembo Crossdrilled/Star slotted Rotors

Edit:
As for Brake Pads... I'm using the EBC Greenstuff and I hate them. They create way to much brake dust and are squeeky as hell.... although they do provide nice stopping force with minimal pedal pressure.

I would higly recommend you go with Williams Pads. They are supposed to be awesome. These are what I plan on getting next... remember to get the ones for Street/autcross/solo2 (WPFS2).

Or you can also order them from Wheel and Tire Zone in Mississauga
