reflashing odometre, shops in toronto....
some of you might know by now that i burned my gauge cluster, so Im gonna need a new one or a new used one
...
when I do get one (which will be used) is it possible to flash the new cluster to read out the same amout of KM's saved in the ECU and what was on the orginal cluster....can the dealer do this or is there any shops in toronto or surrounding areas that can do this????
Im sure there has to be....places that do engine conversions and **** or work with old cars....this has been a pretty shitty week!
oh and a tip, dont mix up the dimmer wire and the ILL wire...wiring your aftermarket deck or monitor or whatever to your Dimmer wire will cause this...lol
Im an idiot, I was rushing my work and just mixed up the wires because of the orange colour
oooooh and a new cluster for 2001 Civic Si fromt the dealer $653, so dont *** up like me

actually I did use the 10 dollar harness.....thats the harness that has the "Orange/white" wire that is the dimmer and the "orange" wire that is the ILL....I always had my stereo hooked up to the ILL but then when I installed my monitor I soldered the stereo ILL and the Monitor ILL but when I put it back I wired it to the DIMMER wire by accident...
and trust me everything that was done on my car was done in the "nice" way
but back to the odometer question

oh....god Im retarded...dont even ask...lol
is he trying to figure out how to reflash it??? I guess I wouldnt mind....Im waiting to get a response from this parts place that had a cluster 77K on it, I got like 79-80K on mine right now...everything on my cluster works except the back light and the needles, but I got those EL reverse gauges, so I can still use that cluster for now, its pretty cool at night you just see what looks like a black line moving up on the numbers...

I'm not sure if my contact wants his name broadcast all over this board which is why I haven't simply directed you to him, but basically we think that if you can access the ROM chip that houses the odo values and flash it to a desired value, then it will continue to move on up. I'll pm him now and tell him about this thread, and perhaps he can help us all out.....I want to get an 03 EL or RSX cluster myself, so it'd be nice to have the k's match up.
