springs can run from 80-200
camber kit basically protects your tires from unecessary wear on the tread. since the car is lowered, the get wear from sthg rubbing against the tires or sthg along those lines
when lowered, you'll get camber wear, so you get a camber kit
if you dont, your tires will be toast quicker then had you bought a kit.

PrYnCeQT How low are you gonna put your car? When we finish up this group buy I'll probably be buying new springs to lower my car more and selling my old ones (2 months old). They are like a 1.5-1.75" drop made by tein. If you're looking to drop around that range let me know. We'll work out a deal and I'll install your new shocks and springs too.
SiG Any progress??

Naw, the GB is gonna be for shocks
Originally i just wanted to know where to get shocks, but with all this interest, we might as well get a GB going
We are gonna see what price we can get everything for and then we'll all have a big MSN group convo or talk at a meet and decide which ones based on price and performance of the shocks
Hope that clears things up

if the price is right and everything, Id probably take part in this group buy cuz I'm getting some tein springs from a friend after winter for cheap so I might as well get some shocks so i dont have to worry about blowing my OEMs..
Yes, it's an Acura EL

Camber is when your wheels look like they're angled IN to the fender cause of the drop. hence looking from up front on the car they look like this:

A camber kit is adjustable in length, replacing the stock (non-adjustable) arms and allowing you to make the wheels look like this:

Our cars WILL get some negative camber when dropped, it's true. They WILL wear a little more on the inside edge, it's true. But the wear is nothing you would notice until you drop past 1.5" AND drive/corner hard. Even with my >2" drop, I took my Kumhos off the car and noticed no uneven inside/outside wear after a season of fairly *ahem* spirited driving.
After a drop, you may notice your tires wearing faster. But before you go out and blow a few bills on a camber kit for front and rear, do spend just a bill to make sure you've gotten your alignment checked and corrected. Most wear on lowered cars is not really from camber, but from toe. Bad toe is what eats tires, not bad camber.
So to repeat, unless you're slammin it to the ground, save that camber kit money and buy a set of upper strut bars and a 19mm rear sway.
