Neuspeed Stuff
Hey
Does anyone know where I could purchase (and pickup) a Neuspeed Strut Tower Bar and Neuspeed Sport Springs in the GTA (preferably closer to Mississauga)?
Also, are these things easy to install? I know the Tower Bar isn't so bad, just a matter of torquing the ends down with the bolts. The Sport Springs, however, I have no clue about.. thanks!

A member on here called AstroBoy should be able to hook you up for a good price...PM him. He was doing GB's a while back...that's where I got my bar...he's in GTA too so pickup will be convenient.
As for the install, the strutbar is pretty easy (getting it on there may be a bitch tho...you have to jack up one side of the car and push like mad). For the springs, I would go to a shop.

Yes, it's an Acura EL

A friend of mine in Mississauga has all the implements for a spring install (not a shop), and he can do it pretty quick too - lemme know if you want to utilize his services.

thanks Telly..Also, I'm not sure if I'm going the right route with those springs (I'm flexible with other brands -- no pun intended
) and I really only want to do like a 1" drop (speedbumps and whatnot). Thanks. Registered!!

Hmm...if you want around 1 inch you're looking at Eibach Prokit or Tein (the gold ones)
I have the Neuspeed Sports (about 1.75") and all but the hugest speedbumps are fine...just gotta be extra careful, that's all.
Most people would recommend H&R...I would agree...

Ah cool, maybe I should do a bit more research on my suspension options (Telly, I'll PM you at a later time then, thanks though)..
What about Strut bars? I PM'd Astroboy and will see what he says.. anyone else know of a place I can get one for a good price?

Haha, cool about the brakes...that was quick! Can't wait to see it...
1.3 inches: you yourself will notice it and other 7thgen owners/tuner types will, but the average person would not notice by just looking at your car. It's subtle - expect to still have a 2 finger gap all around.
To me, 1.75 is a good drop, anything less almost isn't worth it. I actually wish I went with the Neuspeed Race springs in the first place cuz now I want to be lower.
One last thing, expect to get shocks within a year or so, if not sooner...

Cool cool.. thanks for the help Shu
With a subtle drop like that, would it really put that much strain on the stock shocks? Approx. a year? Wow, that's fast lol. Also, should I get new shocks as well then? Ahh, there's always another thing you have to change/upgrade in response to the initial change/upgrade lol.. *sigh*

I'm getting the H&R Sport springs.. They're a subtle drop. They are 1.3" all around but I heard that when you break them in they are like up to 1.5 or so.
I heard the H&Rs ride really nice like stock and they are good on your stock shocks.

Well, you might be lucky and if you don't have the first batch of defective shocks (2001's and some 2002's) on your car, it might last 2 years...but the ride won't be great until you upgrade, that's all. Trust me, it's worth it to do them both at the same time as you'll save labour costs and your time.

Sweet, so I'm pretty much getting the H&R's and leaving the shocks for now (just a matter of when to pick up the springs)
Telly, any word from your man when he can do the install? I'm thinking this Friday or Saturday (provided I pick up the springs by then) or next week Friday or Saturday. Thanks man..

I wanna frop my car about 1.5 iches as well, but can someone tell me, what the functions of the springs are. I thought I would have to get new struts to lower my car. What exactly is involved in lowering the car. do the springs just clamp onto the existing shocks and struts? If this is the case, wont the springs tend to move over time? Please help
look for springs on ebay. great deals happenin on there
in terms of functionality, there isnt much. they just lower the car. you wont find any kind of performance inhancement unless you go with an adjustable shock, and strut bars. the springs will take a couple weeks to settle, but then theyll stay there

i guess so...lowering springs dont do anything more then OEM springs other then just that "lower".
some people will tell you that handling increases, and the neuspeed website will tell you the same too, but i dont think anything is actually enhanced untill you put on some decent shocks and strut bars
