Cabin Air Filter
Does anyone replace this? If so, how often?
Mr. Lube went under my glove box and showed me mine and tried to convince me to replace it after 62,000km, but I said no.... since I automatically thought it was a scam to upsell something I don't really need considering I havn't heard anyhting about my parents doing that for their cars.
Any info would help.

you are actually supposed to change them every 48000 kms... if you soke in your car you should change it even sooner.. that filter actually beneftis the A/C system... so if its not changed your a/c isn't performing the way its supposed to and sooner or later it could break down.... one of my customers already had that..
Yes, it's an Acura EL

Hmmm the guy at Mr. Lube told me they are like $75 (not sure if that is for both or not...) , and they are even more at Honda cuz they sell the aftermarket ones.
no all you need to ask for are the cabin air filters or other known as pollen filters..
they are i think b4 tax like 34 and change... for both...
that guy at Mr. Lube was rippin' you off and from what i know there aren't any aftermarket ones, and if there was wouldn't be sure how good they would be..

Open it up and there's two little 'tabs' on the sides. Pull them out and drop the glovebox down. There will be a little slider. Behind there are the filters. It's probably a good idea to take them and knock the stuff out after about every 5k miles or so, until you replace them.

yea man i bought em real cheap online...shipped for $25....when i went to go change them WOW were the old ones dirty and only at 24,000 miles but thats cuz i commute to NYC everyday and smoke in my car....trust me....you really do feel that your breathing cleaner air whenever you turn the air on whether A/C or heat...no musty smell or lingering odor....not until you gotta change em again....i hate all filters....AGH!
its not the money its just a pain remembering to replace them ....i mean there are like 10 different filters in your car. Thread
