H22 B18c ??
H22 B18c ??
Has anyone heard of an H22 or B18C swap into a 7thGen? I know of a shop that said they would make it fit... might be an idea as K20's arent worth the bucks at the moment... any thoughts? anyone done this? any motor mounts avail for these swaps??
Any B series motors should fit, don't they have the same mounting points as the D series motors? But anyway, I'm not too sure about the H22. Technically, any shop can "make it fit" haha. And even though the idea of a H22 would be really nice, if you're planning on getting a K20 swap sometime in the future I think it would be best just to save up for it, or just pickup a B18 or something. But then again, why would you go for an older motor? Good luck!
Nobody has done it... Why? Cause:
-H22's are heavy lugs of crap!
-they respond poorly to mods
-and are poorly designed
-PLUS i dont think you come CLOSE to realize how much work it is to put an H22 in a 7th gen... Just go K...
All motor doesnt pay unless you go K!

I don't think they make such a set. At least not from reading the Swap Combinations section of their site.

No Hasport does not make B series motor mount kits for our car.
The fact of the matter is, you can't put an older engine in a newer car. The engine has to be available the same year the car was built. End of story.

Yes, but it's a drag car, which means the whole chassis was stripped down so basically the only 7thgen components left were the basic body style and maybe some pieces of frame. Also it no longer needs to conform to any kind of street/highway laws. That's like saying "I've heard of someone putting a jet engine into a mustang". How much of the original car is left?
