Back to OE Springs and Shocks
Well ladies and gents... I just had my front shocks replaced under warranty on my 2002 Civic after they blew right out.
My car's front shocks on both sides were leaking, the dust covers were split open, and the lower control arm bushings were cracked in half.
All was covered under warranty. Imagine how much that would have costed me to get fixed if I didn't have warranty left.
After riding on brand new stock shocks and springs, I say the ride is a bit higher but you know what.. the comfort level is unparalleled!
I can't tell the difference if I'm riding in my mother's SUV or my Civic on most roads. It's unbelievable.
WOOHOO HONDA

you probably drive like a maniac. how do you blow your shocks in only 2 and a half years? i know the oe shocks are **** but they should last more than 2 years.
if that happened to me and i had to replace my shocks i'd switch to full tein coilovers because they would cost about the same as replacing my stock shocks at the dealership.

The 401 is nuts. Pot holes all over... bumps and everything.. and I drive that highway from Islington to Leslie 7 days a week and back from Leslie to Islington.
Not to mention Islington and Leslie are both **** too

I hear that! Detroit is pot hole heaven! I don't blame you for going back to stock man. I dropped mine with the prokit just because of crappy roads. No fun having a dropped car if you have to crawl over every bump in the road.

actually there is a problem with the OEM shocks in the new civics. I had my shocks replaced after about 1.5 years because they were leaking and were ****ed (i didn't even have springs).. it's a manfuacturers problem and most civics have it.

What I plan on doing is buying some Tokico shocks as soon as they come out (which Tokico says they have received @ their CA warehouse last week).
I will pick up some of those and save my OEM struts/shocks so they don't wear out.. so when I sell the car, it'll drive like it's new!

Mine were leaking within weeks of being lowered. I dont drive like a maniac. The struts in the 01 and 02 are crap IMO. My second set is doing much better. I've been on them for a year and a few months.
