Hey bros,
My friend is selling his headunit Panasonic CQ-DF602W (picture below)

to me for CAD $150 dollars.. ...... it still has half a year warranty left ( this unit is 1 year and half old0... is it a good deal to buy it?!?!?

and say if i do get it.. Need I buy an additional cupboard to fit in the space or this deck would fit our 7th Civic perfectly!?!?

and last.. how much is the installation gonna cost me/?!?!

meh...there wouldn't be any problem in fitting the deck in but $150 for a Panasonic deck without MP3 is abit steep in my books, Im planning to sell my Pioneer deck in May for around the same price but mine has abit more options. IMO I think you can get a better deal

i just got a jvc mp3 deck for a bit more (170+tax) and its nicer than that one for sure.
thats a steep price for such an old deck, i mean it has been used for a yr and a half. man just go new, less possible headaches and a full warranty. besides, buying used, ya never know of any possible problems, or if its been dropped and the life of it is close to the end!

i bought a bracket for mine and im installing and customing the bracket prolly tomorrow. you will need to buy a bracket though to make it look clean. theres a place in vaughan/woodbride, at steeles and weston road that sells them.

i got a guy to install mine in my 7thgen perfectly. pm me if you want his info and he'll likely do it for you.

that looks alright.. i would pay less than 150 for that thing.. i dunno that would be me..
mp3 is a great feature but its not a must.. cuz i hate seeking time.. lol..

K, that Panasonic deck is a good buy....let's not compare Panasonic decks to JVC decks, no offense, but JVCs have been infamous for having problems working in the winter time...my cousin works at future shop and i have a buddy who worked at 2001 Audio Video and they both said that they would get customers complaining about the JVCs not working. I'm a big fan of Panasonic, and am on my 6th Panasonic deck since i've been driving, they keep coming out with better decks all the time, lol...i say go for it but try and get it for 130...

...yeah my JVC deck has been fukking me every winter since I got it...but it's still running strong after 5 years...lol...

yup, try and get it cleaned every fall just before it gets really cold....that might help...

thanks, ill do that when winter comes around. thanks guys. however i have had good experience with jvc which is why i went with a jvc but i will clean it before it gets cold to avoid possible problems.

anyways, its true mp3 isnt a must, but it depends on how you feel abt having mp3. as well, go for lower on that deck price wise.

my buddy got a real nice used pioneer one for $110 so its all abt finding the deals. pretty sure it was stolen seeing as how we met the guy and he gave us the wrong deck first then realized and went back in his backseat to get the correct one.lol

if ya want his # and dont mind going with a stolen one, ill talk to my bouy and get his # for ya.

i will talk to my friend to see if he can sell it for cheaper by any chance..
however, does anyone here konw if i need some plastic board to fill the space around the deck?!!?. i mean...... would this deck fit perfectly on my panel?!?!..
say if i do need the plastic thing, how much would that cost me?!?!

yeah you need a bracket. Your a couple days too late. I just sold one to SIG on sunday...hehe. It'll cost you around $25 for the piece. You should also buy a wiring harness for your deck as well. That'll cost you about $10-15 dollars. You don't need to buy a wiring harness, but its easier that way, and your not cutting your stock harness.

i wouldnt buy it , its too expensive for the deck... go brand new man and get alpine its the shiet
and yes ull need bracket and wiring harnest
as for the instalation u can do it on ur own its not 2 hard

yeah phuviano just linked me his new one for 15 bucks, he got it for like 25 + tax but PM him and he'll tell you where exactly to get the bracket. like he and i said, you need the bracket to fill in that extra space. its not much of a price to pay to get that clean look while having a better than stock deck.

as for the harness, i preferred to use one as opposed to screwing with the stock one but you dont HAFTA have one. anyways, i went to futureshop and paid 17 and change for it including tax.

hey guys,
lotta thanks to all you guys opinions for helping me to get this deck.....as i've said it before..... since I still gotta save some dough for my university, i dont really have that much money to get a brand new deck even though it only costs prolly around $50 more + tax......and plus some of my other friends also told me that if I wanna get a similar one like this in stores (this one has the screensaver-like display, not jsut the digits and pre-carved graphics)..it would prolly cost me more than $300 dollars + tax.......so yeah. i think i will get it installed hopefully by tomorrow..
so does anybody have any ideas whether or not I need to clean the inside of the deck (in the CD-slot)?... if i do.... where can I take my deck to ?!?!?.................

i think they were referring to the JVC deck having problems and needing cleanings, not the panasonic...
