I got jacked.. f**k!!

Yeah.. my car got broken into today. At a restaurant parking lot in Hamilton.. passenger side window was smashed.. crowbar marks around the edges of the window sill. And all the Christmas gifts were stolen, along with the PocketPC I was gonna actually sell to someone today. The f**ker even took my Canadian Tire money--I mean, what kind of a sick f**k takes your Canadian Tire money??? I swear man, it would've been worth it for him to do it, just so I could catch the f**ker in the act breaking in. When I have spare time I'm going to stake that place out and catch this a*****e because apparently lotsa cars get jacked at the place all the time.

Here's the weird part. Two nights ago, I actually had a DREAM about finding my car broken into!! And even more weirder, in the dream, my passender side window was also shot out, along with crowbar marks. Total deja vu, man...

Well anyways, I just had to vent some more.. venting at people on the phone wasn't enough. However, I thought I'd give you a guys a heads up on a possible future situation: **GET ALARM** I know this sounds obvious, and blah blah blah.. but I'll tell you why. The alarm will easily pay for it self.

Not too many people know this, even the window guys themselves, but our windows are a RIP OFF! Typically, up to 6th Gen Civics, the window prices are around $150-$200. But for our cars, it's around $450-$500!! This is a quote from about 6 different shops. The shop owners themselves could not believe it after looking up the prices. So protect your car at all costs..... it's ridicous how expensive it is to repair it. I've seen BMWs with cheaper windows.

It's also ridicious driving home without a passenger side window, in middle of the winter.. it's so f**king cold, your ***** shrink to the size of a chickpea.

sorry for the loss. but u gotta know everytime u leave the car u gotta put all things in the trunk. when my gf wants to leave her bag in the car, i always hide it under the seats. never leave things in the back seat. not even a minute! i don't even leave a quarter on center console.

Yeah man, all my Christmas gifts.. f**king lowlives. I don't have a deck or nothing, because I didn't want to ruin the interior and wanted to keep it lowkey (I do have a 1200W amp & pair of 12's)..

What goes around, comes around...

f*k dude, it p's me off to hear stuff like that.

Low lives is right. They go around stealing gifts which you put thought into and that would have brought joy into peoples lives.

I hope you can catch him during one of your stake outs and run him down, than **** in a Santa Hat and put it on his head!!!

The EXACT same thing happenned to a friend of mine, last year, in Hamilton. She had like $1500 of christmas presents stolen from her car. That's why an alarm was the first mod I made to my car. Security's very important.

Are you insured for anything that you bought? If you paid with a credit card you might be, I work for a bank so I know. Some banks might have the insurance on their client cards, but most don't these days. Besides that theft from a vehicle is covered under home insurance I think... dmpreppy would know, he's an insurance guy. Sorry to hear about your loss, I had my rims jacked in Aug. and it pissed the hell out of me.

Thanks for the info.. I think I will call up the credit card company and see what's up. Unfortunately, we didn't have home theft insurance (yeah, believe it or not.. long story to that).. very frustrating. Maybe the credit card might save me..

It happened on Cannon & Bay in Hamilton.. I didn't know this at the time, but apparently it's gang infested in that area.

And yeah, definitely time for a car pager alarm!! Even though now I'm a little low on funds.. gotta bite the bullet

Well, I'm ashamed.. but I left the stuff sort of behind the seats. I had some left over plastic grocery bags, so I covered it up so nothing could show.... but I guess they either still saw it, or took a chance.

Time to get the window fixed!!

See what happens when you leave Canadian Tire money in plain view?!?! I keep telling people to lock theirs in a safe until they're ready to use it.

It's just rotten luck. I thought about a security system. I know they can't steal my car unless they work for NASA cuz of the immobilizer, but if some bastard wants to key it or slash the tires or pry open my gas tank and **** in it, then there's not too much stopping him, alarm or no alarm.

I leave my car pretty empty, the only thing visible is my $30 chamoise and only a true car lover would be interested (and they respect other people's cars).

You should do the stake out, even setup some decoys. You'll get some closure to this tragedy when you finaly have this rat by the *****. Bring a video camera with you and switch it off just before the severe beating commences.

the way I look at it is, If they want it bad enuff they will find a way to get it, the best thing you can do is keep everthing in the trunk, an alarm would help but it wont stop all thefts. Sorry to hear none the less. good luck with everything.
