Question Trunk leaking

I was planning on doing some cf housing for subs in my trunk but when i took out the carpt to get my measurment i found a puddle of water. The right side edge of the carpet was noticably soaked aswell. Have any of you had this problem?

theres rectangular box kinda like a filter box in the truck right behind the rear driver side wheel well underneath the carpet. That'll do it. it'll get flooded with water during normal driving. Driving around for 2 days in the rain will do it. Its horrible cuz it made my car smeel like ****. I just covered it up with some plastic bags and duct tape. No problems so far....but my car still stinks....Take a look cuz mine happened after 2 years and when I went to investigate there was this 4X8 gapping hole. Again right behind the driver side wheel wheel right above the wheel.....

thanks for the help guys

BoSS: I know the box you are talking about but I got water coming from the other side. The passenger side.

I did a search and someone said the problem was a faulty sealing around the gas lid, could this be the problem?

gas lid is on the driver's side.

then that wouldnt be your problem if you're sure it's from the passenger side

i had the same problem over the winter too.
i had water in my trunk and i thought i just left something wet in there.. but when it happened for a 2nd time... kind of got me thinking.

but that was then... maybe i'll check my trunk to see if there are faulty leaking some where... o_O

909 will become famous soon enough
Trunk puddle Solution =

1. Remove the rear bumper.
2. Checked the hose assembly for clogs, leaks (sunroof drain) replace as needed
3. Remove Air Vent Assembly (passenger side trunk - hidden under bumper)
3. 2 part Epoxy seal the rubber vent flap SHUT (this flap allows trunk to vent)
4. Silicone the $hit out of it (no ventilation = no leaks )
5. Silicone the inside edge / perimeter - reattach to body via clips -
6. Seal the outside edge, with more silicone - repeat in trunk interior
7. Re-install bumper , trunk carpeting

Ta _ Da !!!! No mo leaks. Silicone dat biotch shut ta keep 'er dry.
