My Car = F@cked
holy crap man, got into a car accident at 6:45 and now 4 hours later im finally home. shiiiiiiit well anyways story just below but if you dont feel like reading that then scroll down to the dotted lines i got some questions seeing as how this is my first accident.
So im going westbound on the 401 near weston and it just starts to trickle some rain. Im in the farthest lane to the left and theres quite a bit of traffic. So as im about to come to a stop i hear like mad tire screeching, im like wtf and go check my mirror when my car gets flying forward. I get rear ended and my car nicks the van infront of me. Theres some damage to my right fender, right headlights, and right side of the front bumper but the major damage is to my rear. Like its completely caved in, tail lights messed, muffler destroyed, back bumper demolished. Funny thing was it was two hot girls that rear ended me, supposedly they were on their way to canadian idol or something like that and got lost. Looks like i ruined their chances right there
lease: . Just when i thought it couldnt get any worse it starts to rain like MAD when im collecting information, damn i was standing there for like 1 minute and i was completely soaked.
Anyways when the towtruck came he phoned the cops and said something like they couldnt come and that we all had to go to the collision center or whatever thats called. The girls car was pretty messed up to, like her whole front was mashed in. The people infront of me only had minimal damage, but it was a brand new sienna only 5 clicks on that thing. The rain must have been bad cause there were people just storming that place. After they checked out my car they estimated the damage cost to be around 10,000 dollars which is more than half of what i payed. I guess i gotta talk to my insurance company cause it kinda looks borderline to me, i would rather them pay off the car than to have to do all this major repairing to my car.
All in all it looks like i wont be joining you all for any upcoming meets, man that sucks i was just about to get a kit and possibly a carbon fiber hood. Like they always say, wrong place at the wrong time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well for anyone that has been in an accident or knows about this stuff maybe you could help me out. First off the main thing im concerned about is insurance, i got rear ended pretty hard which in turn pushed me forward and i also hit someone else. Now im kinda confused about this cause i heard different opinions but is my insurance suppose to go up?
Secondly before the accident i was actually researching and looking to purchase an aftermarket bodykit, does anyone know if its possible to get the insurance company to pay for an aftermarket front and rear bumper instead of the oem one? i think it would cost around the same dont you think?
Well thanks for your time for anyone that decided to read this, i felt like i had to get something off my mind and just wrote this up for you all to read. Peace.

1st question...I don't think you need to worry about insurance, since its not your fault, it was those gals hit you from the back and cause you to hit the front.
2nd question...from what my friend told me, you can request to install aftermarket stuffs on your car, there are no rules that saying you can't get aftermarket...as long as the cost isn't higher than the OEM one...
Good luck!

i feel for bro. im still recovering from my accident. **** the car, the question is are you okay? cars can always be replaced.
i suggest trying to get ur car to be written off, and not repaired. it aint gonna be the same, its tainted, not a virgin anymore. i had the choice for my car being either fixed or written off. i chose written off and convinced the dealer to convice the insurance appraiser to write it off.
its totally not ur fault. so under no fault insurance, you pay squat. and most likely the hot gurls will have to pay for everything on both vechiles. i dont know the whole story nor whats been said in the police report so not fo sure if they pay everything. insurances are asses so they may make it a 50/50 claim and both of you have to pay. but i highly doubt that.
and interms of after market ****, forget it. all the stuff i put on my car puts no value in appraisal, maybe big items like damaged rims and full cat-back would be considered but probably not. i took off as much as possible off my car b/c it wasnt included in the value of the car.
the only time insurance covers aftermarket stuff is if you claim ur mods and they've been stolen.
i may not be 100% on all the info, but ive recently been through it. it was the other persons fault and aint paying anything.
and considering how damaged ur rear was, u probably got whiplash and will feel it soon. go to ur doctor, talk to insurance and ask for the ACCIDENT BENEFITS APPLICATION, this tells u all ur rights and what ur entitled to when its not ur fault.
PM me if you have questions
best of luck

Holy crap, glad to hear ur ok nme3. I'm sorry to hear of your car but look at the bright side:
- you MAY have a chance at getting your aftermarket stuff
- you got contact info for at least 1 hot girl
- you got to see one or two soaking wet hotties...

oh, i'm assuming you have stock civic though...
if you have aftermarket stuffs and didn't tell insurance about it, you may not get the same thing back even though insurance pay all...
if you had stock and got crashed, you can request aftermarket stuffs instead of OEM...

1 insurance wouldn't go up for sure, since you got hit from behind
2 you can replace whatever you like for the aftermarket parts, but you have to check it with your repair shop, to make sure they will do it for you
**Remember: tell them earlier before they get the stock parts to repair you car **

Hey Tony! Sorry to hear about the accident. It seems like you are taking things pretty well. I bet if the girls were ugly you would have been pissed. haha.
All joking aside I would try to get the car written off. You dont want damaged goods and it could just lead to more maintenance problems down the road.
The only thing that sucks is being without a vehicle for a while and keeping your fingers crossed that they give you a decent value back for your car.
When my car got written off I had to go back and forth with the claim adjustor to try and get what I thought was fair value. They usually try to lowball you at first, so tell them that you dont feel that its fair and hopefully they come back with a better offer.
The other hassle is car shopping again which could be fun but is also stressful too. My insurance (State Farm) gave me a rental car for a little while but it wasnt that long and I felt rushed to buy another car so that I wasnt stuck taking the bus.
I hope everything works out for ya. Good Luck.

thanks for all the tips and support guys really cheered me up. the only thing im mad about is that i cant do any cool stuff with you all for a while, bah.
I'm not an insurance pro, but I can see this really f*cking someone up...
Cars are: van in front of you, civic you drive, and then hottie car.
If the van says in the police reports that he felt TWO bumps, one small one, then a BIGGER one, in theory the insurance guys could technically say you slid into the van in the first place, without any help from the hotties. That's "First Contact". (for you Trekkies
).... Now, hotties bum rush you up the fart cannon, and you bum rush the van AGAIN (just like in prison). From this, I'd think the insurance guys would try to re-coup some losses and try to force it on your azz that you were 50% at fault...
I'm just scaring you, as I'm always the gloomy-type, but it could happen...

hrmmm, thats always something to look out for but his backend has only a little dent on the back left side so i think it would be pretty hard for him to pull that story off.
now that gets me thinking, if the insurance company finds me at fault for hitting his van would i still have the option of settling it outside the insurance company? even if im reporting that i got rearended. cause if they find me at fault for hitting the van then i might as well pay for his damages myself instead of my insurance premiums going up.

First off, I'm glad you're alright and everyone else involved in the accident for that matter.
Secondly, not to be negative, but don't think you're in the clear yet. Because you were rear ended and colided with the car infront of you, there is a good chance that you can get a Following to Close ticket. Now I don't know the specifics to the accident and neither do the Police, that's exactly why you might get ticketed.
See, the fact of the matter is you hit the car infront of you... regardless of what reason it was. And because of that, the Police Officer is entitled to issue you a ticket.
Hopefully this doesn't happen to you though... Good luck and let us know what happens.
BTW... the car is most likely a write off. $10,000 in damage plus the cost of labour involved to strip and replace all the damage parts of your car will cost way to much.

by the way......juss cuz you dont feel anything now, doesnt mean you wont.....usually pain sets in about 3 days from impact....i'd go to the doctors and then try to cheat the insurance company with a pysio claim and then go to a doctor that'll help you scam....glad to hear you ok though

Dont Scam unless you really are honestly hurt.
I had a couple of people try to scam me and claim personal injury over a little fender bender and it really pisses me off!
I will give them a reason to be hurt if I ever see them again.
You wouldnt want the guy in the van to say his neck is sore now...would you?
Just be honest, and everything should work out for ya. Just be sure to make sure that you are happy with the amount the insurance decides to give you and hold out for a little more just for your troubles.

that's right, phone number doesn't do anything, as long as you got all the important infomation like, driver licence number, name and address, insurance policy number, plate numbers who involved, that's all you need.
