Installing OEM Sides
Well, I finally picked up my mounting brackets from Mississauga Honda yesterday. Tried putting it on myself and I couldn't do it.. so I took it to the mech across from my house, but he's clueless as well.
Could anybody help me out? Thanks...

u also need double sided tape, perfer 3M, u mean u cant successfully have the sides in place and stick on or u have no clue how to install the brackets?, if u know how to install but it wont stick use the 3m tapes, heat it put the sides on and let it cool, dont let it get wet for 2 days
Just installed mine on the weekend.
I needed two sets of the the brackets for a total of 8 (4 per side) @ $30 per kit.
I first tried to mount them without using mounting plates or 3M tape, they will hold in place, but if you put any weight on them (like some-ones heel when getting out of your car, or going over a big bump in the road) it will move.
So, since we cant get the mounting plates from Honda (I tried 3 dealers all said they couldnt order them seperate from the skirts) you need to make your own.
All post a DIY of how I did mine.

alright i checked out a car with a oem skirt kit and all that car has are mounting brackets that like they are shaped like 2 !!!!
i dont see any metal plates on it.. and im also guessing its a replica side skirt.. cuz it felt like it was abs like plastic.
where would the metal plates go by the way??

really??
well..this is how im gonna do it. take the 3m tape and the "2" brackets and grab a bottle of silicone (clear one ) and dab it on where the 3m tape is and use some masking tape to hold it in place till it dries up. ... unless u guys have a pic of the metal plate and where it would go... >,<

Oh crap, I'm gonna be installing a set tonight (like REALLY LATE)....hey 01Coupe, I'll let you know how I do. But in the meantime, can one of you kind gentlemen tell me where to obtain this 3M tape? Is there a special name for this particular kind that I should be looking for?

Make sure you print off this installation guide.

But I strongly suggest you make your own and mount 2 attachment plates at the rear end of the side skirt. Without them the skirts are very loose.
To make your own mounting plates:
1.Get some shower door tracking at home depot (about $10 for an 8 foot strip) Its aluminum, shaped like a U and about 1 inch wide.
2. have them cut it into 79cm pieces (you'll get three pieces from one strip of tracking.I only used two and my skirts are rock solid.)
3. mount the tracking to your car (after cleaning it and the car with alcohol), so that the the plastic hooks/rails on the back of the skirt rests in it. (you might have to do this a few times untill you get the mounting plate at the right height so that the skirt mounts flush while resting in the mounting plate, the skirt should have little or no play in it after the brackets are tightened)
4. While mounting the tracking, you should bend in the corners or grind them down, so they dont scratch your paint.
I hope this helps.
woo... thanks thanks
this is my project next weekend when i come back from the states.. haha u just saved me from slapping some silicone all over it >,<
hmm..basically we need 4 of these..
did u manage to fabricate the template????

No, I did it without the template, and I guess it wanst really a must have, It just took me a bit of extra time adjusting where to mount the fabricated mounting plates. You can line it up with your eye, by looking at the back of the skirt and where the skirt is supposed to rest when mounted.
I only used two mounting plates instead of four, (one per side mounted about 3 inches from the rear wheeel well on an Coupe). I really didnt think the front two were necessary, it will also save you $10 from buying another strip of the shower door track.

i work in a machine ship so i may be able to find some scrap metal, mill it to what i want and bend them to what they have to be at, but i need to know what they look like!
drill some nice holes..

OK I did the install this morning using A-Spec's instructions. Went great, just need a couple more brackets which are on order. It holds solid tho. Thing is, I mounted the rails with double-sided tape, but I had to drive home from my buddy's house (where I installed it) in the POURING RAIN!!!!! Gaaaa!!!!!! I hope the tape is still sticky...
I went to home depot and could not find anything like the attachment plates. Can Anyone take a pic of what it looks like?
I ordered my brackets from honda so they should be here in a few weeks!
any ideas?

They look like sliding door track, about 1/2" wide by 1/2" high by like 6 or 7 feet long, made of aluminum. I'd take a pic but they're already on my car.
I have the skirts now now with only tape and and 1 screw each.... waiting on honda to get the 2 sets of brackets in....
Is the track allready in a u shape or do u have to bend it....?
I went to two different places home depot and coult not find them ahhhhhh
