What are u talking about? We have been planning a Mid-Atlantic/North East meet for months now! It is going to be a big one, not a little local one. And if i knew where you lived and had your email I would have sent you and email.

Well if we get enough people, it shouldn't be that expensive, idealy that is. We really haven't looked into prices, but it will be things like hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, etc. The norm for picnic food. We thought it would be easier than BYOF and offer more choices that pizza (for those with dietary restrictions)

The meet will be in July in Lebanon, PA

i voted for catered, but only if they cater like BBQ type food. like burgers and stuff like that, with a bar for people who are 21 (hehehe )

otherwise, id have to vote on the BYO. this might be big, but i dont know how many people would eat. and even then, how many would actually donate? my guess is few. so if theyre hungry, people can always go and get something or bring their own....it is a car meet, so everyone will have their cars there.

plus this way you guys can put more of the money towards other things, like a wet t-shirt contest, or models, or strippers, or DJ, or breakdancers, etc.... hehe JMO

I know the BYOF worked well last year, except we hopefully will be having more people this year and it might get really confusing. But it is up to you guys.

I voted to have it catered the only reason is because if it is supposed to be as big as it sounds i think it would be confusing, trying to get everyone to bring something and then people are not going to sign up or forget to bring something and then there will not be that much. But like PBfoot said it is a car show so i dont know how many people are going to wanna eat right away or wanna bring food with them, especially if they have to drive for a while, unless they bring coolers and stuff like that and just chill out by there cars. is Import Tuner or Honda tuning going to be there still or what.

Everything is still in the planning phase...but should be finalized within the month. Just to give you guys an overview...last year we didn't have a problem with people bringing food. If you lived far, we asked you to bring like a bottle of soda or chips or something. People that lived close took care of the other items. Also, it's not just a car meet....it's like a big party almost. We are gonna be hanging out and doing other things as well....at least, that's the plan. So, leave any more ideas you have here to help us figure everything out!

k? thanks!

Hmm... Catering would be nice. I live a ways away, so I wouldn't want to bring any food. The number of people I'm bringing is unknown though, so I don't have a good idea of how much to donate. Hmm...

I guess bringing your own food is allright, but (as someone said earlier) I could only bring chips and/or soda and/or cookies. I.E. something that won't spoil. I guess it could work if we communicated well and we had a good variety of food instead of just chips and soda. LOL

you know the more I think about it, the more I think the bring your own food idea will work. what we need to do is sticky a poll asking: Are you planning to attend the mid atlantic meet this year? This, of course, after we set a location and date (which we should have done now-- Issac, are you looking into this other location? anyway, it will give us a general idea on how much food we'll need. we will be strict, and I mean STRICT about assinging people important things to bring. we should only allow people to bring something if they _know_ they will attend, not just a possibility (as in having to request off work and not certain if it will be honored).

I'm also game with catering though

Before I put my 2 cents in, just to let you guys know I'm Curt's girlfriend. He wanted me to check this post out and add my ideas as well.

I voted for catering the meet. Mainly because sometimes it's just a pain in the *** to have to bring your own food. And for people that might be driving a further distance than others, it might be somewhat difficult for them to bring some things with them. I think if we get enough people to reply and say they are actually going to go, it would give the organizers (whoever you may be) an idea of how much to charge people. I have no clue what catering costs are these days, but if we're charged no more than $20 a person and have a say as to what we want to have; I'd be down for that. Hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, bbq chicken, and all that good stuff would be great. And if people still wanted to bring their own stuff, that's their own choice.

Also, I don't think I read anywhere so far as to where this is planning to be held. Do you guys have any suggestions thus far? Curt told me before that it was going to be in PA. So maybe that got changed. If the idea of where to hold this is still up in the air, why not go for an area around the PA/NJ area? From what I can tell, it seems that most people are from the NY/NJ and MD/DC/VA areas, right?. PA or NJ would be somewhat of a half-way point for most of us.

I do have one question. What type of place is this going to be held exactly when the day and location is finally chosen? Something like a park, I'm guessing?

OK. I'm finished. Thanks dudes and dudettes.

O, excellent post! The planning committee has discussed most of this. The location is still up in the air along with the date, but should be decided for SURE within the next week. We have two park locations in Lebanon, PA in question and the date we are planning on this is July 26th..it's a saturday for those of you who work, go to school or are driving far. We are looking into hotels for people who want to stay over, activities and things to do while we are there, directions with maps and a web site just for the meet, and MUCH MUCH more. If all goes planned, the meet should be huge and a LOT of fun. We will keep you updated and a new thread about the meet will be posted shortyl

LOTTA GOOD IDEAS!

I'm inclined to go with catering; though Klassy and I handled the food assignments last year, and everything went well, we DID have a couple of peeps no-show, and ended up having to run to the store for more burgers and dogs . . . if we could get the funds together reliably, and in a timely fashion, catering would be an EXCELLENT idea.

Committee Members: is that meeting online tonight?! K and I can't make it tonight, but I'll try to keep up to date on new developments. Maybe I can give Rob a call and find out the particulars, or Rob, maybe you could leave me a message at home? Hopefully u still have my number. Either way, just let us know how it's going down. We'll keep you updated on our end.

its important to make a date/time first and location so we can choose if catering or BYOF

ppol will be driving like 1, 2 or more hrs just to make it to the meet. that depends of course where u coming from. ppol will be hungry by then

catering i think ull need to know
how much per person
how long they gonna stay and serve the food

I think BYOF would be best cause catering would be loot and what if some people dont like to eat food like that. I personally dont like eating that kind of food (catered). So I guess people who chipped in get a bracelet or would it be mandatory for everyone to pay to be there. I live in Long Island NY and ill probably be snacking the whole way there so I probably wont be hungry and even when im hungry I dont eat much $.99 chips and a soda for lunch. Im not a cheap person but I dont like eating outdoors when I dont know who cooked the food catering or not my family has been in the restaurant business for a long time and I dont trust eating real food by someone I dont know or a business I dont know. Im really not trying to be **** im just giving my $.02.

Point taken....just so you all know. The planning committe has discussed everything you are mentioning. Don't think we are pulling this out of nowhere. The location is most likely set for Coleman's Park in Lebabnon, PA and will be sometime in late July. (Most likely the 26th). Mex has a web site made just for this meet and it will be up and running VERY SOON! Everything you will need to know about this meet will be there. Also, if you need any other information PM any of the following committee members, they have the most information:
