bad dealer experiences!!!!!!
my girlfriend bought a 2001 civic sedan from a certain dealer in lansdale, pa. they also sell pontiacs and cadillacs, i wont use their name but i think you can fingure it out if you live near here. but she got the car in april of 2001, upon delivery we noticed the molding around the top of the windsheild. the dealer assured us that they didnt have the part in stock but it woul be ordered, never heard from them so i all 3 weeks later, said they hdno rcord of the problem, but they would order it at this time. at this point we set up a date to come in to have the work done, the only appoinment they had was 3 months away, but we made it anyway. so 3 months later she take the time off from work and we drop the car off. only to get a call, 6 hours later, that they didnt have the parts yet, like they couldnt have told us ealier, the day before or when we droped the car off. well to make a long story short she has since taken off 2 more days from work and still has not had the car fixed. other warrenty work she has wanted to have done has not been completed as they said they did. its really a shame!
It seems as through they want to sell you the car and not want to help you out after that. i wouldnt tell my worst enemy to buy a car from them. well she now has an appointment with a dealership in doylestown, pa, where i bougt mine. they said theywould be more than glad to take care of her, wish i did it sooner. sorry i just needed to moan a little

I can't decide if I feel like typing my experience, but I guess I will. So here's my deal:
I have a rust spot on the inside welding of my passanger side door. Now, I didn't do anything to get this, it's just there. So I take off work and make the only appointment I could get at 8AM (on my SPRING BREAK!) I go there and the guy is talking to me like I am some total idiot. He couldn't even find the rust spot without my help! (Talk about me being the idiot!) So like an hour later, he comes into the waiting room and says, we can do two things. 1-send the car to a body shop, which should take about 2 WEEKS or 2-I could just "throw on some touch up paint and send you on your way." (His EXACT words!)
Me being the smart girl that I am, said HELL NO. Send it to the body shop, you can have it for 2 days and you need to give me a car to drive around. The guy didn't really like my idea so I stooped to calling my dad. (I really didn't want to but I was forced! I wanted to be the all-knowing woman driver that I am, and show this JERK up, but he just wansn't havin it!) So may dad lays down the law and I get my deal! WOO HOO.....maybe they will give me an S2000 to drive, in my dreams!
So my theory-guys suck, oh wait...I didn't mean to say that...meant to say DEALERS SUCK! One last thing-this came out way longer then I had anticipated, guess I am just too bored!

i got a very bad impression from j.l. freed (yup, that same dealer in lansdale, pa) when i first thought i was going to get my civic. the salesman must have thought i was dumb because he tried to tell me that he was doing me a favor getting me a 20% interest rate and it was so hard for him to do that he would have to sell the car at retail price. well he lost a customer for life, i ended up getting it from keenan honda in doylestown through carsdirect.com for $16030 and a 6% interest rate.
vandal - why doesnt she take it to another dealer, god knows there are enough around here, she could go to keenan, conicelli, lehigh valley or pottstown.. f*ck j.l. freed

My take on dealerships is you have to take the a$$hole approach. You tell them exactly how it is and how its gonna be, they listen. I just ordered my Si on friday. I talked to 3 different dealerships......Leesburg Honda, Fairfax Honda and Rosenthal Honda in Tyson's Corner. I used Leesburg as my info base (got the brochure), they didnt have one to test drive so i called Fairfax (cause I try to avoid Tysons like the plague) they said that I couldnt test drive one unless it was the color i wanted and i was very serious, then they proceeded to tell me that they usually go for 2-3k over msrp......mark one X on the chalkboard. So I broke down and went to Rosenthal.......I walked up and told them I want to test drive one, I dont want any dealer add-ons ($1000 foglights..etc.) and that I would pay msrp minus destination, they had to conversate for a minute, but then gave in. All you have to do is go in there and act like you know exactly what your talking about and they listen. Of course this is a little harder for girls, but then you can always take a guy with you to do the same. (Taking requests now ) Oh yeah I ended up buying it from Leesburg (i just like the people a little better)
