2004 solara
i say it looks like an front looks like ES300/celica/altima. the rear looks like the old gen CL/murano. however i think this would be a potent head to head rival for the new accord coupe. hell i think it looks a lil sportier.

i love how they are staying true to design...
the rear hasnt changed a whole lot... and the front shares some simalarities with the camry... i say its gonna most likely be an auto... so no it wouldnt compete with the accord v6 6spd coupe

I would imagine it would come with the puny v6 that is current offered in the camry sedan.
Toyota is blander and WAY more numb than hondas with concern to driving experience. In short, it may be a coupe would I would never associate the word "sport" with it in any way.
It will be a coupe for the slightly less mundane camry buyer. It will wallow over bumps, be too quiet, and too numb to conjer any excitement. Unless toyota decides to change their philosophy, I can't see it competing with the accord coupe in any kind of sport way.

Actually the V6 in the updated 2003 Camrys, as well as in the new Solara, is a close match for the 7th gen V6 Accords, at least AT vs. AT. It appears Toyota is trying to make it sportier this time, and less of a "secretary" car (no offense to any secretaries out there!
). It looks comparable to the 7th gen Accord coupe, but I bet that it will be priced higher with more features optional and not standard as they are on the Accord, which is Toyota's M.O. to offer more options to drive the bottom line up. I always felt that Hondas were a better value than Toyotas, even if quality and engineering are similar.
