First off, what kind of racing have you done? Because if you havent done any then How would you know? Second, the Two drivers that ran that S2000 are VERY compitent Autocrossers. with ushually the top times in their class. Kam Drives a DM CRX while, Mark Drives a 125cc shifter Kart. These are not bad or incompitent drivers. You are also dealing with a car that has the stock wheels on it. not exactly the best tires for Autocross.
As far as the Focus haveing better brakes? Well All I can say about that is that the DAMN rental was a whole lot more confidence inspireing then my civic. weather or not it Stoped quicker, I dont konw, but it sure felt a whole lot better. personaly I dont like the FOCUS, it handles like a Sponge.

ALSO, Number one, MOST people FINANCE their cars, and don't buy a car with an extra $11,000 sitting around to do mods. Number two, sure you'll have a fast civic. But IMO, no it won't look better, and you don't have a convertible RWD roadster with classy appeal and turning-head looks.

Rep Power: 376 zzyzx is right about the VTEC mid turn. If you hit VTEC before the apex, and are driving the car to its limits, even the best of drivers will lose it.
