hail damage repair?
well a few days ago, we had a pretty big hailstorm and now i have dents in my car. I didnt realize how crappy the sheet metal is on our cars. Anyways, im gonna report it to my insurance on Monday, but i was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them, and how much it cost you to fix it. Well that's about all......just feeling depressed and venting

how bad is it? i have some hail storm dents in my car that i got soon after i bought it. i have about 3 dents in the hood, and 2 in the roof, but it isn't that bad, so i didn't bother fixing it, was waiting for a bigger hail storm to hit before i reported it.

also, dents in the hood and trunk lid are easier to get out than dents in the roof from what i heard, but depending on dent size, my local honda dealer will take out dents for like $50 a panel, unless its really bad, then they would charge more.

so far i have about 15 or so dime sized dents on the hood, a few on the roof, and about 10 on the trunk.............time to go check out some dent repair places tomorrow
Yeah that happened in Prescott, AZ when I was living there sucked golf ball sized hail destroyed a lot of stuff. Thank goodness my place wasn't hit by that storm, but the auto guys were booked for mths fixing those cars.

my car got dents all over the car, mostly the top, hood, trunk, little on the sides. it was estimated 3,255 and plus i paid a 500 deductable. Quick advise, take estimate of serveral hail certefied tech. then go to the insurance company and give them the highest estimate, this process gives you an advantage of fixing your car and a POSSIBLE paiding for the deductable plus you can also pocket money. the way to pocket money is after going to the insurance company, bring your car to a cheap but cetefied hail tech to fix your car. Oh yeah one more thing, when you go find out what is the latest time to go. the reason is that you can see more dents in the shade. insurance company should have tents out for you, but still go during around 3 to 4 where there is less sun, but enough light to see. my car was fix inside a garage, paintless by the, they also uses blacklight to see all the dents on my car. i was very please. GOOD LUCK hope this help

I had hail dmamge a week after I brought my car home. It had a multitude of dents in the hood, roof, trunk, and most of the passenger side. It was about $2200 to fix. I didn't have th luxery of a bunch of different estimates though. My insurance either sends me to an "approved" shop or I meet an adjuster somewhere and he cuts me a check.
oh yeah, insurance can not make you go to any particular place to fic your car at all. if you do choose a place the is high dollar and you trust them to fix your car. what the shop will do is call the insurance company out again and tell them you miss that, and this, and that is more expensive to repair, and etc. don't forget to look at your moldings around the windows and windshields.
